    JANE fun??????
HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOO…. anyone remember SASSY? NOw that shit was funner than getting head at the park. SASSY went under and JANE took its place in the 90's….most of the writers sold out, SASSY went from something like BUST to SEVENTEEN quicker then LILO hitting a free 8 BALL of your boyfriends ass cheeks.

I Love Jane .. and Sassy.. why is it only crap magazines that tell you how to lose weight in 8 days that get to keep a shelf life.. How shallow is modern society set to become.

    108

I loved SASSY. I still have all the old issues. I say bring back SASSY!!!! I was never much a fan of JANE after Ms. Pratt left but SASSY molded my teenage fashion years…

Noooo! I just subscribed….good think I didn't pay yet. Thanks Perez!

JANE was just an excuse for the writers and editor to suck up to celebs and pretend they were their friends. It turned my stomach. I cancelled my subscription when I realised it was just funding their attempt to cling onto the coattails of people who genuinely famous. Ugh. So much name-dropping. They totally deserved to fail.

  13. RR says – reply to this

    113

Jane Pratt's original magazine was truly groundbreaking as a publication for young women that recognized they were cogent beings instead of boy-crazy fashionistas.

It was RIP once she left…

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

    *weeping*

  15. Misty says – reply to this

    115

Oh well. The shit they had in there was way too expensive anyway. And the fashions were ugly.

What a media death. That sucks.

    117

Jane magazine was a piece of shit from the beginning. It was never edgy or smart-assed or intelligent, and the people who think it was are completely vacant. If you want a good independent women's mag that isn't all about how to give your man the best beej ever, try Bust.

  18. Ken Jones says – reply to this

    118

I thought that they went bankrupt years ago.

  19. Pers says – reply to this

    119

Ah, Sassy…I remember a LOOOONG time ago when I was 13/14ish and had a subscription to Sassy…sigh.

    I'm OOOOLLLLLDDDD! LOL

    so sad!!!! great magazine

  22. GGM says – reply to this

    122

    Thank-God. That mag sucked!

  23. M says – reply to this

    123

I have to agree, it sucked more and more as time went on, but it REALLY went downhill after Jane Pratt left. I used to like it because it really *was* different. Not any more. I stopped reading after the first few issues with Brandon. It turned into the same shit you can find in any other women's magazine.

  24. M says – reply to this

    124

Also, whoever recommended Bust… it's not as different from the rest of the mainstream crap on the newsstand as you'd like to think. If you really want something different, read Bitch mag.

org! i just got done reading the June/July issue, it was literally the last thing I did before Perezing! im upset.

  26. jennyface says – reply to this

    126

what is wrong with people? i love that heaping piles of shit like cosmo make it for ages and jane is out…just like sassy (i love jane pratt forever and i know that she left jane but still) …apparently people prefer "how to make a guy cum on your face faster" articles as opposed to something with a little sass writen by intelligent women.

    boo!

  27. Nell says – reply to this

    127

    No! I have a subscription!

  28. Melanie says – reply to this

    128

That was the only thing even close to decent journalism for a magazine. The article in the last issue on the Children of God was amazing. Ugh, now it's back to Cosmo regurgitating the same crap on how to give the "perfect blowjob."

    What a bummer.

  29. Margot says – reply to this

    129

Will they be refunding me the $10 I just paid to renew my subscription? Golly, now what will I read?

  30. Jen*Jesss says – reply to this

    i, for one, am glad.

A great quote paraphrased from the graphic novel Ghost World:

"Sassy is for cunts who think they're edgy just because they know who Sonic Youth is."

  34. Former SassyGirl says – reply to this

    134

Finally…nothing was more annoying than that damn editor thinking we gave a crap about her every breath and life stage. I dance on the grave of all exercises in narcissistic futility.

  35. cate says – reply to this

    135

my WHORE-o-scop in jane mag told me i would get an STD if i didnt "keep my legs closed" untill the fourth. what kind of bull shit is that!!!!

  38. Sadface says – reply to this

    138

Sad! I loved Jane. Even after it went a little downhill with the new editor it was always really fresh and interesting. Dammit!
I miss Jane Pratt. What the hell happened to her? Did they can her or did she leave of her own accord. I just renewed my subscription for two years a couple weeks ago. Grrrr

  39. alyssa says – reply to this

    139

oh no!! i loved jane it was my favorite!! what will happen to my subscription. i'm bummed but goldies comment "of course it’s dead…once jane pratt left it was total shit… they tried to turn it into cosmo which is a fatal error… i’m sorry it lost it’s original point of view with the new editor." is totally true, as soon as jane pratt left the magazine did start to slide :(

  40. Bee says – reply to this

    140

This is horrible news! Jane was the only intelligent magazine for women in their 20s!

  41. Jade says – reply to this

    141

Brandon Holley totally killed it. The last issue of my subscription was her first as Editor In Chief. I did NOT renew. Where is Jane Pratt?!?

  42. keils says – reply to this

    142

dammit. i loved jane, but thanks for telling me. i was just about to pay for my new subscription and i'd only recieved one mag!

  43. Kirk says – reply to this

    143

WTF is Jane magazine? I take it it's not an American magazine.

  44. Lin says – reply to this

    144

The new editor killed a great mag. I was a huge Jane/Sassy fan but I admit that it has lost its edge.

  45. patty fever says – reply to this

    145

Thank you, that is a gift! That bitch Jane Pratt sucks so bad!!!!!!!!!!!! Even though she'd been gone for a few years, her stench was still there!!!!!!!

  46. Erin says – reply to this

    146

BUST Magizine is a lot like (and better) then old Jane was - check that one out.

  48. zsuzsanna says – reply to this

  49. Michelle says – reply to this

    149

It was better when it was SASSY magazine. JANE SUCKED ASS!!!! Sooooo boring!

  50. In mourning says – reply to this

    150

Fuck, I'm moving out of this Western world. I have lost all will to read at the coming of this news. I need to lay down, and then get up and start packing. I lost hope in this strange land (North America) long ago. Everyone is so uptight yet we go crazy for some fucking super-tanned pair of tits with hair and dare call it a woman. No, no more of this shit.

  51. melissa says – reply to this

    151

Uh… am I going to get my money back for the subscription I JUST bought two weeks ago… or what?

  52. EEEEmeeeeee says – reply to this

    152

That magazine sucked ASS, anyway. HARD!

  53. lilly says – reply to this

    153

    =P

  54. Marco Pervo says – reply to this

    154

She never had the stature to carry a magazine on her name anyway. Blabbing about bumping clams with Drew Barrymore was low class. Good riddance to this annoying 90's relic and her lame mag.

  55. Kathi says – reply to this

    155

OMG!!! Whatever. That rag has been crappy and juvenille since 'Jane' herself left and was replaced with some 'I was popular in 1985 during my senior year so this qualifies me to be editor of Jane' has-been straight from a Fountains of Wayne song. Yeah, I had a subscription-if only for the car accident factor-c'mon, I just couldn't look away. I hope I get a reimbursement check for the rest of the issues I won't be getting. I'll save it in anticipation of 'Perez Monthly'. Kisses!

    158

After the new editor took over, you knew it was just a matter of time

  59. starmekitten says – reply to this

    159

Even with it's flaws, it's sad to see it go. It's the only mag that acknowledges the fact that most people don't have megabucks to spend on fashion, etc. While I was urked by the detox article and their preference for waifs, at least it promoted an idea of womanhood that was comparatively complex — where compassion, activisim, and awareness were as important and desireable as physical beauty. Hopefully Jane Pratt (or someone!) will bring us something new and even better…

  60. cathy says – reply to this

    160

it sucked ever since jane left it for her baby. it stopped being feminist and edgy and became just another glamour or cosmopolitan but not as good as those.

  61. WTF? says – reply to this

    161

Damn! I had a free subscription to that magazine! What am I gonna read when I'm stuck in traffic now?

  62. C says – reply to this
