It's official. Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port have been fired from Teen Vogue.
The magazine decided it no longer wanted to be associated with the TV show because it didn't approve of the girls' behavior as depicted on the program, and now the ladies are out of fake jobs.
PerezHilton.com told you about this a month ago, four weeks to be precise, in this post from December 11th.

UMMM it took Teen Vogue that long to figure out the show and the girls associated with it paint a negative image of the magazine??? Unbelievable…shame on Teen Vogue whose readership is in actuality VERY young were talking middle school, not 16, 17, 18 year olds who watch something like the hills and see it for what its worth, a fake "reality" show. Teen Vogue sold out and bailed on any responsibility it had to its young impressionable readers in the interest of free publicity from MTV. Teen Vogue should be showing young girls positive images of grown women but instead with the Hills they managed to glorify and glamorize petty drama and adolescent behavior being carried on by grown women filling job positions they certainly did not earn. The show also sends a clear message that if you are rich and "good looking" (I personally don't think any of them are anything special) it doesn't matter how half-assed your job performance is, which in the real world isn't exactly how it works. The Teen Vogue Internship that Lauren, a college dropout who barely passed high school, is handed to make good television is something a hard working journalism student at any college would have killed for. Too little too late Teen Vogue. The show is entertaining I will give it that…but Teen Vogue should be ashamed of itself, I would ask how Lisa Love sleeps at night but most likely thats on a half a million dollar mattress in cashmere pajamas!
the hills IS fake. i was in LA at club les deux while they were filming and they constantly tried to have people walk by the camera so it "looks natural" also, they kept telling them where to sit and who needed to be in what conversation
this was probably the stupidest move Teen Vogue could have made. Does someone need to remind them how much their sales have increased since the show began? This show has brought a whole new market to the magazine and introduced thousands of girls to the magazine who could otherwise care less. I think this will hurt their image far more then keeping the girls on would. Furthermore what about the girls behaivor is so inappropriate? I can sort of understand being concerned about Lauren but Whitney has never done anything worse then getting drinks with a band.

If it's true…GOOD. I'm not saying they are, but all the girls on that show seem SO stupid. I mean, come on. Whitney has the same ”OH. MAH. GAWD, No, really? OMGOSH! WOOOOW!" lines every episode. It's like, all the girl knows how to say. And her mouth hangs open alot. Invitation, much?
And Lauren. When she got pissed at that Jenn chick for hooking up with Brody and stopped talking to her, why didn't she stop talking to Brody? I'm pretty sure it looked like he was a more-than-willing participant. 'Macking' on her n all. She probably was just desperate. Right there is a case of girl putting a boy before her friend. I don't feel bad for LC because it was only an internship & I am sure she learned a lot. However, that was Whitney's real job. I am sure she will land on her feet but the show didn't portray her making out & partying all the time. I don't think Whitney is the sharpest tool in the shed (I am judging by her presentation in NY but I may be wrong). However, she is super nice & seems like a hard worker. Perhaps she doesn't come across as smart because she is a nice person - I don't know but I like Whitney. She is the only one with class. Obviously Adrina has no class judging by the guys she dates. As for LC I like her sense of style & think she is cute but I think she acts like a snob to the paps & she isn't even a real movie star. She is also acting like a slut with all the people she is hooking up with. I don't blame Teen Vogue for getting rid of her but, again, they shouldn't have fired Whitney. It is one thing to not want to have MTV film her at work & another to actually fire her. On the flip side, Whitney has made a lot of $$, more that at Teen Vogue, by being on the Hills. Re: Katherine – I so agree with you except your opinion on Whitney. She is clearly just a nice person & cares about people. I know her dialogue on the show makes her seem a bit dense but I just think she is super sweet & it is her way to relate to people & their problems. However, I so agree with you on the fact that it made no sense that LC didn't get mad at Brody but got mad at Jen when they hooked up. Brody started it & what LC needs to face but she is too stupid is that Brody would hook up with anything. I wouldn't want that dumb slut working for me so I agree with Teen Vogue firing LC. Sorry all you LC fans but I liked her too until last season. It is funny how Brody so uses LC & Spencer is faithful to Heidi. Hmmmmmmmm if LC would have worried more about herself & her relationships she & Heidi would still be friends.
What work did they do? It's a horrible example for young people see.

a lot of LC fans in here. not me, though. i used to be. she turned me off big time this last season. she's really snobby and expects everyone around her to kiss her ass. and if they don't (like heidi), she turns on them. she also loves playing the victim role…with this whole "you know what you did" attitude. i don't even find her personality that interesting. she's so blah. no wonder why brody won't date her. he needs someone more friendly and fun-loving.
as for them getting fired, i'm sure teen vogue made the offer for both of them to continue working there with the condition that they leave the reality show. they, obviously, chose the reality show. i, personally, think they should go to damn college. they don't have many marketable skills and once this show runs its course, they'll have nothing else to fall back on. unless they go into acting, which, you all know, won't work. once a reality tv star, the stigma stays with you for life.
