I don't care how it's done, but I think the courts should allow her to see her children even if they have to supervise the visits. Not seeing her children could completely drive her over the edge. I know it would me. Although some of her choices haven't been well thought out, I do believe that she loves and wants her boys.

My Hubby is a family law lawyer and also acts a a judge in that court from time to time - he says a Mom has to be an AWFUL influence or a real danger to her kids before a Judge even thinks about removing children from the Mother. Moms are seen as the child's primary caregiver and it is traumatic for the children to be removed from her presence. There is a lot even we and the gossip mongers don't know about the case - Brit is a bad Mom - I'm sorry to say this since she is obviously mentally ill, but the courts only interest is that of the minor children. Brit needs to get help, then she can see the kids and have another chance to be a proper Mom - that is the goal of the court - provide a framework whereby families can remain together.

Why Kevin is asking for severing of custodial rights is to see if Britney will change her behavior at the prospect of losing her children forever. It is a tactic to force her to start taking care of herself so she might snap out of whatever, start listening to the judge and being a good mom. It's pretty last ditch on his part because the judge can't force her to get a mental health evaluation. He can only force her to get one if she wants to keep her kids. That is what he can take away from her. Hopefully, the prospect of losing her kids will help, but I doubt it.

They certainly aren't to blame for her being a bad Mom in the eyes of the court and the law of the land. She is being given chances you would never had - she needs to take them if she wants her kids back.
The only reason this whole nonsense got started is simply because K-fed's alimony was to end so this was the only way he could keep up his lavish lifestyle. Its hard to say really for everybody who is NOT in THAT situtation - only they really know what is really going on. I think it would be better if the Judge said to Brits 'go get help (i.e rehab, mental treatment) where she has to LIVE IN at the facility for 2-3 months) and if you dont NO custody or rights for you. She really needs to be forced into treatment, but I am sure if she was getting the right help and there for long enough she could get completely better. As I believe it is in the kids best interests to have a decent relationship with their Mum but obviously not while she is so erratic and crazed, am sure she does love them though - she just REALLY needs help.

No. It's not reasonable. There needs to be a way to give Spears and her children safe visitation with each other. Maybe this visitation will need to take place under even stricter supervision than the court monitor provided. Visitation is essential. Spears has acted badly, no doubt, but she and the children love each other and need to have an ongoing, regular relationship with each other, if at all possible.

If she really wanted to see her children and have 50/50 custody all she has to do is act right when she has them and listen to the judge. Its really not that hard. I know that if that was my baby held in the house or bathroom I would go back to court and take visitation away. :( the babies need to see their momma, even if she is a bit loopy sometimes, maybe court appointed supervision in a neautral area, they don't understand why they don't see their mommy, they will think she left them, not good for the babies, they need to figure out a way for them to see her whatever happens.
