The new arrival's name is Harlow Winter Kate Madden
"The beautiful healthy baby girl left the hospital with her ecstatic parents," Nicole's publicist says.

Beautiful original name! I am thrilled for them. And yes you can absolutely leave the hospital the same day. I had my daughter at 3:08am (my first) who had Apgar scores of 9 and 10 (mom's will know what this is, everyone else should Google it). I had the most ridiculously cramped and unairconditioned hospital room and I felt physically great for just having a baby so I asked to go home. They told me to wait until the baby had her first bowel movement. We were home by 5:30pm.

I like how people think they have the right to diss someones choice of name for their child… sure if they called her toe rag i get that but there are thousands of names that would be worse.
and yes kate was orignaly an abreviation but i personally know 6 kates and 4 of them are just Kate the other two are kathryns one of the kates told me that her mum didnt get why people named their kids kathryn and then never referred to their kid by that name.

To Pam and Aubrey, in an interview before Nicole became famous, she stated that her birth mom had only recently told her who her true birth father was and it wasn't Peter Escovedo, by the way, the Escovedo family, according to Sheila E, are a mixture of Creole, Black and Mexican, they are not purely one thing. Nicole stated while she liked Sheila E, she had no interest in meeting Miss. E's family because they were not related. I don't know who Nicole's birth mother is, Nicole has been silent about that as well. I guess she thinks it is not the public's business, and frankly she's right. However, being nosy, I would still like to know. Anyway congrats Nicole and Joel on having a healthy beautiful baby girl.

don't forget - some people have their babies at HOME - not always in the hospital! the baby is better off at home where there are no germs!

at least they didnt name it blanket. and i think its good they brought her home that day, for one, so the hospital didnt have a chance to overdose her on heparin, and so that if they were there for more than a day, it would be inevitable that some paparazzi or some crazy would try to get in to see them. can't wait to see pictures though!

Harlow is such a beautiful unique name. Obviously a throwback to old Hollywood (Jean Harlow) what a nice take on such a beautiful lady's name.

Not a lot of people will know this unless you're from the UK and know it well, but Harlow is a place in the county of Essex and it's a real shit hole! There are some parts of Essex that are actually quite nice, but it's got a reputation of being the UK centre of sluts, people on welfare, teenage mothers and general losers. Plus, all of you on here who have mentioned that Harlow is the proper pronounciation of HARLOT are correct. I don't think that Joel and Nicole did much research before they chose this name!

You guys are idiots. Some people HAVE their baby at home. There's no "two day law!" The only time they keep yo in the hos[ital for a few days is when thereis a problem with the baby or if the mother had a c-section. They did not get any special treatment. I'm very happy for them.
