Holy Shit that was annoying…call me heartless, but i couldn't watch past the 35 second mark without turning it off. Really, i don't understand all the hype about the Jonas Brothers…i mean, i try to like them, but all of there songs kind of just seem bland and one-dimensional…what do i know, maybe that's there appeal?
I guess there moderately talented, but if they were just average looking, somehow i doubt they'd be universally adored, as they are now….
Listen to Bright Eyes…conor oberst is a lyrical genius…and thats all.
Re: Violet – : Yeah…but Oberst's 27…which is different than the depth of songs being performed by a 15, 18 and 20 year old….which they wrote over a year ago. They are growing up a lot…if it is your thing, enjoy them for what they are right now (retro lighthearted pop-rock and ballads) and see what they develop into in the coming albums.
For me, I think their music is appealing in a simple way (a look back at "classic" pop and rock will reveal a lot of so-called simple music! it doesn't all have to be needlessly complicated to be good), and it is true, a lot of their appeal comes from their personalities (which have been unusually open with) and their energy.
People who diss them need to be fair in terms of talent, they contribute a LOT to the writing of their music, and fully play their instruments with their excellent full band and sing live, and do it really well. They play real shows; they experiment with new songs. They are not prefab, but a REAL band that Disney was just smart enough to get behind.
The only negative I would say is that they are SO young their talent was raw not that long ago…I hope the corporate giants don't overproduce their music and burn them out. :/

Maybe the music they wrote was different from the jonas brothers as it was a different era, and therefore reflected attitudes were different. I also understand that it's pop music. But pop music does not equal bland music. Call me crazy, but i believe pop songs should convey things sometimes too. To make things more interesting at least. Because thats what music is to me. People connecting and relating. I don't mean to say music always has to be overly serious…but some honest feeling from the artists makes it so much better.
