Wow. This is some serious shiz!
It takes something really mayjah to get Rosie O'Donnell to speak in half sentences (as opposed to her usual haiky style).
The former talk show host just posted the following entry on her blog about Britney Spears, the next Princess Diana, in her eyes.

I remember the tunnel as it appeared on the news, lit by headlights, flashlights, red lights. Between the cement tall pillars was a heap of twisted metal. I saw it then, and I can see it now. Diana dead.
She will be trying to get away, but they will chase her, just as they chased her into that church yesterday. There were dozens of them, jostling their way into sanctuary, elbowing past each other, just to creep closer to her. Even her last-minute, folded-hand prayers can’t be kept sacred. There can be no silent moments in a crowd; no silence, and no secrets.

At eight years old, she bravely stood before a microphone. By 17, she had sold 25 million records. Where were the sidewalk-skinned knees, the chalk stained hands, the monkey bars, the passed notes? A Disney set is not a childhood, no matter how many bright colors they use, or how cheerful the script.
Not a girl, barely even a woman yet, they chased her. A mob of stalkers for whom no stalking laws have been written. Smother. Crush. Flash. Photo Credit. Even Dr. “Get Real” Phil got in on the action. Unreal.

If Rosie would take a little time to follow the facts with Britney maybe she's understand a little better. This nothing like the Princess Di situation. Princess Diana did not in later years pursue the paparazzi and flaunt herself for the cameras like Britney does. Britney purposely roams/drives around town HOPING to get her picture taken. And in her demented state, Britney is acting out even more so than when she was supposedly "normal" by dating a paparazzo! Her last assistant was one too….. GEEZ Britney loves this!! I realize she's demented and needs help, but she's not blameless in her current situation. I will agree with Rosie on one thing—the public buys the magazines that pay the paparazzi to stalk celebrities. There are big dollars being thrown at these people.

I completely disagree with her. All the needless Starbucks runs. Gas station stops. Rite-Aid visits. This is someone who invited in the attention.
I agree that a messed up childhood could steer one in this direction. I agree that people are taking advantage and making money. But this is someone who has been inviting this in for a long time and is now a mess because of it. I feel bad for her, but she's far from blameless.
I agree that growing up in show biz can do damage but so can growing up anywhere in this world. It all depends on how strong the person is adn their willingness to grow. Britney made her choices. She has made the pap's to where they can't get enough. Really they are following her around wondering how she is gonna fuck up next. She did that to herself. She has no problems getting one fanta and one pack of cigs at a time while being mobbed by the pap's instead of shopping in bulk on time a week or something at real stores that sell more than one at a time. Princess Diana did not drive around aimlessly for hours, with her car
top down and with her CHILDREN IN THE CAR.

Princess Diana didn't broadcast her new marriage on reality tv

How can Rosie even compare Britney to Princess Di? Britney is a troubled pop star who whores herself out to the media. Diana was a humanitarian, who upon escaping the royal family, wanted to live a life as far away from the spotlight as possible. How dare Rosie put them in the same category! There have been many casualties in the entertainment industry; people who have not been able to handle the attention and scrutiny, and in the end, have succumbed to drugs. This is the category that Britney will end up in if she doesn't get the help that she needs. Not the Princess Diana category. Sorry, Rosie!

Sorry, there is still no comparison between the way they died…Britney courts the media, thrives on the attention. She is the one to blame for the media frenzy that her life has become. If she does die in a way similar to that of Diana, it would be her own doing. She would never be considered a victim in the same way Diana was.

There is not one ounce of evidence that Lynne was anything but a loving Mother to Britney, there is no evidence that she was abused, ignored, pushed in to stardom and had a bad childhood. Skinned knees, swing sets etc… ………How do you know she didn’t have those things?? I am sure she did, and she also had an advantage of being able to become something that millions of kids wish to be. Once you become an adult you have the ability to be who you want and make a positive life for yourself and your children. Britney Spears has the resources to do whatever she would like with her life. I can't believe I actually agree with something Rosie said/wrote. This is painfully true. Unfortunately, Britney seems to like the attention, and brings it on herself.
