my only negative is i dont care to hear a newscasters personal political opinions, i just want the facts.
I worked for CBS Sports last year and was in the green room for the entire game. She came in there with an entourage and was acting like such a bitch. I even have video of her asking who the "chick in her chair" is during a rehearsal the day before. The segment before Katie was introducing her special CBS news piece with Hines Ward, they were doing a segment with Leslie Visser (first woman inducted into sports broadcasters hall of fame). Leslie Visser has literally revolutionized females in sports broadcasting and Katie Couric was asking who the "chick in her chair" was. That told me ALL I needed to know about that woman.
This actually makes me like Katie more..she complimentary, helpful, funny, contrary to what all of the buzz was that she's a bitch. Wassup Perez? Why are you making a fuss when there's none to be made…? did you even watch this clip?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Looks like what I would expect to happen prior to going live. She's verifying information, organizing her notes, clarifying how to say names, making a few jokes, and overall just very respectful of her colleagues and most certainly eager to do a good job. I have a lot of time or Katie — she like Hillary is in a tough position trying to pave the way for other women.

Thought she seemed okay in this clip, nice to her staff, joking around. I think she may have been "playing" for the camera a little knowing it was being taped - and she DEFINITELY was making fun of Meredith Viera, which like an earlier poster said, makes no sense since Katie quit and its not like Meredith stole her job…and she made fun of her twice…so I think the inner bitch was coming out!

I don't think there was anything wrong with how she was acting or treating coworkers…she seemed very nervous. The only thing I saw wrong was she seemed to be competely clueless about the campaign yet she is reporting on it and wanting people to watch and listen to her. Not a fit, she needs to go back to the fluff news…like a kleey ripa type setting.

I work in the news (another network) and I don't think this is bad at all. Not one anchorperson knows everything, they need to rely on their producers for some of the facts. The fact she's staying upbeat and making jokes makes me want to work with her! People are too hard on Katie — I'm sure she has some flaws, but I don't see any in this video. If you worh with Katie, count yourself lucky!!!

i haven't paid much attention to her in the past, but i can't imagine why this would make you, or anyone else with half a brain, hate her. this post just confirms something that i've been coming to realize for a while - that you aren't really any different from the athletes who rule cliques and terrorize outsiders in high school. the only thing that sets you apart is the fact that you prefer cock, and your overly advertised ethnicity, and you use them to legitimize the shitty things that you do. katie, doesn't look like an asshole, you and your coalition of the willing do.

Though I'm not a huge Katie fan, I don't see anything wrong with her behavior here, at all. She is being firm when necessary, but overall quite polite to the people working around her. Her face is on TV, and she is the one being judged on everything that goes on the air. Why shouldn't she ask for better microphones, or for a 15-sec signal? Male anchors do it all the time. And the "Jerry" she's talking to is her producer - all anchors have them to bounce ideas off of, do extra research, write some scripts, etc., and she sounds pretty informed and on-task - in NO WAY a "bitch". Get off her back.
I didn't see anything wrong with the clip- in fact, because of it I'm going to check her out on the evening news tonight. However, I'm a NBC news fan, this clip puts her in a new life, she seems more "real" and less "anchor-god-like". Perez's correlation to CBS' slumping ratings makes no sense, neither does his new hairdo/ extentions.

This type of video should never get "out of house." Usually it isn't even recorded. It is called a clean feed, and for someone to release it tells me that she is not very liked amoung her peers there at CBS. The tape itself doesn't make her look bad. The fact that someone recorded it and released it does. This will have a very chilling effect on how she relates to her co-workers when she is supposed to be off camera.
Why does she keep blinking and blinking and scowling like that? I think even her humor comes across as stressed and tense. I do not think that she has much charisma. I'm not saying I could do a better job than her, but many people are qualified to do a better job than she does.
I bet if you showed some behind the scenes with Brian Williams, Dan Rather or any male it would be much worse than that. Leave Katie Alone!

What the hell are you talking about? It's fascinating to watch the off-air feed. I like her so much more now than I ever have before because she is handling this boring bullshit with humor and charm. I would much rather watch these off the cuff remarks than those horrible 15-30 second "updates."
