I don't think that was so bad. She's probably stressed out and maybe a little edgy, but I didn't see her being a bitch or anything. I think she's just a perfectionist and she's good at her job (ex. verifying name pronunciations before the newscast). That may come off as bitchiness.
I definitely like her more having seen this.
She's seems really cool, down-to-earth, and friendly to the staff and people working around her.
No impression of her being a "diva" or a bitch or anything like that.
I'm impressed actually.
And what, because she reads the news she's supposed to know everything about everything?? Not possible.

I worked in the TV news business as a producer and this is pretty standard fare. In fact, Katie is quite polite and at ease under pressure, which makes the producer's job much easier. So what was the point of this video…and most importantly the stupid description of "this is why people don't watch her?" Because she is just like the rest of us? I don't get it.
I like her, she seems normal. Cut her some slack for gawd sake.

I have served Katie on numerous occasions in NYC as well as the Hamptons. She couldn't be more kind or fun to serve. She is very engaging and meets you right in the eye never turning away. Always gracious. I also work behind the scenes in alot of television in NYC. Welcome to REAL LIFE PEOPLE!!! This is the same scene when main principle actors want to run lines and the fact that she is asking so sweetly the News Director for permission on how to relate the news speaks volumes on her professionalism. I have met some super cunts in my time and she is definitely not one of them……….if you are not working in the industry then shut your face retawdsssss….I am with my Perez…DONT HATE!!!!

Nothing that Katie's Couric is doing is wrong per se. I just can't imagine the last generation of newcasters acting this way. There is a certain dignity and respect that previous newsmen used to have that is missing in this clip.

perez, you are usually dead-onish, but ur wrong about this one. She comes off pretty well, at some points she is pretty intense/borderline rude with some comments, but thats the job, they can't be wishy washy when they are preparing to go on the air!

OMG, I always thought she was an annoying, clueless fake. Now I have proof. Scary the rapid bouncing between that insipid laugh and Matt Lauer seriousness. "Please, take me seriously, but I want you to like me too!"
I don't like Katie because of her Today Show work. She was rude to guests she didn't deem worthy of her star status. While kissing the ass of other stars in the next segment, it simply highlighted those rude moments even more. Then you would watch the elitist Katie come back out with an actor or actress she thought she was upbove. Then the next segment would be her doing something she enjoyed or was her thing, and she would be beaming while insulting her co-anchors. It was brutal to watch. Frankly, she better treat her co-workers better than her last, but thankfully we don't have to watch that psyche on tv any more. It is contained in scripts.
One question though. WTF is Homer Simpson doing capturing sat feeds trying to give Katie shit. Like I said, I don't like her, but it makes me wonder if Harry/Homer is one of those actors she deemed unworthy of a perky interview on the Today Show?

I've hung out with her before and found that she's absolutely down to earth - incredibly smart - and 100% NOT a bitch and NOT annoying. The "problem" with this is that she lacks BASIC knowledge that you would expect a nightly news anchor to have about the forerunners of each party…she is constantly having to ask people about basic things about Romney, Huckabee, Obama/Clinton, etc. It is SO BASIC.

I am so glad that this was posted!!!! I fail to see what is to be ridiculed! This has made me START watching the CBS News: I think that it has given her a great deal of character and personality. The video of Tom Brokaw getting liquored up…now THAT would be funny!! The fact that she has become a target for such hatred is yet further proof that we, as a society, are destroying ourselves as we choke on our own vitriol.

When she says she "doesn't know anything about Huckabee," what that means is she doesn't have any information on how much Huckabee spent in Iowa, or what his campaign's expectations were. The female she refers to is a Huckabee staffer who is communicating with the station.

I don't see what the big deal is? I work in tv and saying something is "dead" or "lives" or is "killed" is common slang we use to describe what's been cut or is staying in segments of a show. She seems fine to me, all anchors act this way.
