I have been a mega-fan since 1986's 'Control'. I hate to admit it, but I am growing bored with Janet. Instead of making a great album, Janet is trying too damn hard to sell sex. Ever since Madonna moved on to more mature (and I am NO Madonna fan) musical themes, Janet decided to grab the sex torch and carry it herself. Unfortunately, for many of us, we liked Janet because she seemed to have more substance. Prior to the release of the awful 'Damita Jo', I remember reading a quote from Dallas Austin stating that it was her "Dirty Mind" album. She keeps making the same album, over-and-over. Janet was never a hip hop artist. That audience will not buy into this. She is a pop artist, with a huge gay following. Her last two album didn't flop because of the record company, they tanked because she has lost touch with her fan base. Mark my words…THIS ALBUM WILL TANK! Jermaine Durpi should not be involved with it at all.

I'm not sure I would have known that's Miss Jackson if you're nasty without Perez saying it. It will be interesting to see how the cd does. The music biz is so fickle. Her "singing" is very average, but she has been doing this long enough to know how to put on a good show. Even though I'm not really a fan, I give her kudos for putting it out there. Even if it is recycled vocoder stuff.
I'm digging the coffee-table-book/arthouse vibe of this album cover. Most of the aspiring pop/R&B princesses are too busy trying to look "pretty" on their album cover to take an artistic risk like this. I like that Janet took it there. She's showed us that EDGY can be BEAUTIFUL, too. This pic is so stylized that it would fit just as easily in an art gallery or on the pages of Vogue/Harper's Bazaar, as it does on the album cover. The name of the album is DISCIPLINE, people. Did you expect Janet to be on the album cover grinning with a flower in her perfectly-coiffed hair? Get real! If that photo doesn't capture the concept of "Discipline," I dunno what does. Thanks, AGAIN, Janet for blazing the trail for 2008. I betcha all the young starlets will be biting this style for their album covers next year.

I like the concept for the shot, but I have to say I don't particularly care for her hair or her top — as much of one as she has on. I really love the gloves with her name and album title apparently written in globs of Wite-Out and the fact that it's black-and-white is HOT. "Feedback" is her most 'commercial' single in at least 5 years… too bad it's not making the impression fans and her label have expected.
