Degrassi: The Next Generation star Adamo Ruggiero has come out of the closet!
In an exclusive interview with eTalk, the Canadian actor reveals that he is gay, just like his character - Marco - on the hit teen show.
"I didn’t plan it that way… maybe it’s life imitating art, Ruggiero tells eTalk. "Degrassi let me do something real and I kindof feel like I’m living proof of what the show was working to accomplish."

Ha Ha! Degrassi is my guilty pleasure too! I have had the biggest crush on Adamo (Marco) since he joined the show. I love Degrassi and the original Degrassi Junior High when I was growing up. I wish you would do more stories about the cast of Degrassi Perez. I'm sick of seeing Britney's face all of the time!

Plus Marco is a good role model for all homosexuals…he overcomes many obstacles concerning his sexuality and basically stays with the same partner throughout the show instead of "experimenting." its definitely not the last season. it depends on if it is ordered again but the executive posted a blog saying they are wanting to go on to season 8, they just have to be ordered. so degrassi isnt ending and i hope neither are the stories of marco and the other older kids.
