Degrassi: The Next Generation star Adamo Ruggiero has come out of the closet!
In an exclusive interview with eTalk, the Canadian actor reveals that he is gay, just like his character - Marco - on the hit teen show.
"I didn’t plan it that way… maybe it’s life imitating art, Ruggiero tells eTalk. "Degrassi let me do something real and I kindof feel like I’m living proof of what the show was working to accomplish."

This isn't new news, right? At least, not in Canada it's not. Everyone in Toronto seems to know someone on Degrassi or know someone who knows someone on Degrassi, or in my case, know a guy who used to sleep with Adamo…so…colour me not at all surprised and a little confused as to why this is something to talk about NOW.
