Forgive me; for I am about to dork out, and my kung-fu is strong.

I think all Trekkers (ies) can agree that the one of the reasons "Enterprise" became the first ST series since TNG to bow out at less than 7 seasons (though, at 4 seasons, it was still on the air longer than the original series!!!)
was this "revisionist" attitude to The Star Trek Cannon.

Suddenly, we, as fans who'd not only invested hours of our lives pouring over the series and features, to say nothing of the wealth of supplemantal information, were supposed to accept whatever whim tore through the writer's room that weekend, when most were seriously appocryphical, if not outright insulting, to the established back-story, cosmology, and cannon we'd grown up with, and grown to love.

One of the best things about Trek, and most "big" Sci-Fi, is the universe created around the stories, a living, breathing thing representing years of fan-fiction, novelizations, role-playing games, technical manuals, and the like. "Enterprise" thrown this all out with the bathwater, and, dare I say it, most of the time this was done simply to satisfy story-beats in some shit "archer vs. the … ( oh, yeah…Xindi??????) storyline.

    But I digress….

This pic represents EVERYTHING that worries me about this new flick.

Does Paramount really want to fuck with 30+ years of dedicated fandom?

I guess so. This ST is for the tweens, it seems.

People like me, who know the ST universe back to front, are getting squeezed out so they can put Jessica Alba and Josh Dechamel in those Red Shirts and have them fight C.G. Vampires or something.

    I'm so depressed.

That's funny.. it looks more 'futuristic' than the original TOS Enterprise. That was ST:ENT's problem. I really hope it doesn't suck
