The good news? Polls are showing that he's pretty much out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination.
In a new interview, Huckabee equates homosexuality to bestiality.
When talking about his hopes to change the constitution, he says, "Well, I don’t think that’s a radical view to say we’re going to affirm marriage. I think the radical view is to say that we’re going to change the definition of marriage so that it can mean two men, two women, a man and three women, a man and a child, a man and animal. Again, once we change the definition, the door is open to change it again. I think the radical position is to make a change in what’s been historic"

Liz–Im not saying they misquoted, i went to the site, he said what he said. But what I am saying is he did not specifically say that they were all the same. I can almost guarantee what he meant is if you open the door for one alternative group, then all the others are going to want the same treatment. If Mike Huckabee wants to marriage to be historic it wouldn't be about love anyway. Historically marriage was about business, money and social connections. Actually, religious FREEDOM is the major reason that people colonized America in the first place. They wanted to be able to practice what they believed, not what the government wanted them to practice. Once you open the door, it's hard to shut it. Look at ancient Greece and Rome–some historians believe that their acceptance as a society of homosexuality was just the beginning of the end.

When the government got involved in marriage, they set it up for equal rights. You need a government assigned license to get married, there for it needs to be protected by equal rights.
If they take it out of the hands of the government, and make it strictly religious, then yes, I can understand not allowing gay marriage. But because the government is involved they need to give all people equal rights. Denying gays the right to marry is denying them the same rights as other Americans.
In my opinion, I think any union sanctioned by the government should be called a Civil Union, and through a religious organization should be marriage.
