The good news? Polls are showing that he's pretty much out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination.
In a new interview, Huckabee equates homosexuality to bestiality.
When talking about his hopes to change the constitution, he says, "Well, I don’t think that’s a radical view to say we’re going to affirm marriage. I think the radical view is to say that we’re going to change the definition of marriage so that it can mean two men, two women, a man and three women, a man and a child, a man and animal. Again, once we change the definition, the door is open to change it again. I think the radical position is to make a change in what’s been historic"

Madison viewed it as corrupting influence that has promoted ignorance, pride, and bigotry over many centuries. He would have been appalled that modern-day bible-thumpers like Huckabee are using spirituality to pander to the baser instincts in people.
Madison WAS a Christian himself, but he was also COMPLETELY opposed to any form of government-sponsored religion. He authored a bill in 1785 that removed taxpayer support for the clergy, and went on to see that the words, "Jesus Christ," were removed from the Virginia Bill for Religious Liberty.
This may be difficult for you to accept, but not all people of faith need to impose their beliefs on others. James Madison was a deeply religious man who, nonetheless, had an overriding concern that Americans be protected from state-sanctioned religion. Your own reference to Madison is simplistic and misleading.
And yes, Christian iconography can be found decorating public spaces across the nation. That certainly doesn't make it constitutional! Recently decided court cases are finding in this direction, and ordering that religious symbols be removed from public spaces. Think "War on Christmas" a la Bill O'Reilly.

I am agnostic and do believe there is a God, I just don't believe that any one organized religion has it right. And I believe that our founding fathers (who were mostly Agnostic or Deist) had quite the same attitude when they used "In God We Trust" etc. It's one thing to believe in a god; it's another to believe that everyone else has to believe in the same one you do.

Actually, homosexuality (in definition) didn't exists till just over a hundred years ago. Before that, it was just common practice, married men had gay lovers all the time. Hence Gentleman.
