The good news? Polls are showing that he's pretty much out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination.
In a new interview, Huckabee equates homosexuality to bestiality.
When talking about his hopes to change the constitution, he says, "Well, I don’t think that’s a radical view to say we’re going to affirm marriage. I think the radical view is to say that we’re going to change the definition of marriage so that it can mean two men, two women, a man and three women, a man and a child, a man and animal. Again, once we change the definition, the door is open to change it again. I think the radical position is to make a change in what’s been historic"

I do not support Huckabee. I also believe that gay marriages should receive the full recognition as hetero marriages. It is extremely difficult to change the Constitution in anyway - this change will never receive the support needed to actually make that change happen. But he isn't actually equating homosexualtiy to bestiality. he is talking specifically about the hows and whys of changing a law - and it is completely realistic that the recognition of gay marriages can give people like polygimists a legal leg to stand on to get their marriages recognized as well.

God didn't forbid it. Thats just stupid. He wouldn't have created gay people in the first place if He hated them. Some of the most brilliant minds/artists/etc. in history were gay and did amazing works that inspired others. Learn your history. It wasn't really until Augustine decided it was bad that homosexuality became a 'sin'. If the corrupted early church leaders put a ban on homosexuality it means that they would make more money (which they did) because straight people could then get their children and future generations to give money to the church. It is very simple. God can't hate because in theory the nature of God is pure love. Therefore that can not be possible. The Bible is not a reliable source on the matter because it is full of crazy contradictions and rules. Instead of listening to someone preach, find the answers for your self.

Then all will be fair — but I'll bet you don't want to do that. The government should not meddle in marriage and should not give benefits to one group of citizens but not another. Leave marriage to the churches — and there are many churches which have no problem at all with gay marriage. The government can stick to keeping the roads repaired, if it can manage that.

Believe it or not, my gay friends and i have discussed this and i am christian, and i do believe that marriage, as it was originally intended was to be for man and woman, at leat from the religous aspect. not that homosexuals cannot be christian, i just dont think that in the way that marriage was intended was to be between a same sex couple. It would be like me wanting to be Hindu while saying my pledge over a plate of steaming ham…if you understand what im trying to say. you mentioned other religions, such as muslim and hindu, both of which have laws on what constitutes as a legal marriage. its not that i dont think that same sex couples should have rights, they should, the question that i posed was in what context is the fight being fought? just to have those rights or to be recognized by the church/government?

I get what you're saying and I do appreciate as well that you're able to intellectually debate rather than attack. To answer your question: in my personal opinion, one reason most gays want the right to marry because of legal benefits. But on a much larger level, I think for once we'd like to be treated as equals. Equality is not reached by offering "2 kinds of marriage." Like if you have two kids and give one yogurt and the other gets ice cream with a cherry…. How do you think interracial couples would feel if they'd been offered a different kind of marriage? Back then, a black man with a white woman was just as horrifying as 2 men. That being said, no church should be forced to marry gays. But no government should tell a church they can't (and there are many that want to do them). Lastly, marriage was originally intended as an economic arrangement to secure property and keep bloodlines, not as a loving bind between a man and woman.
