The good news? Polls are showing that he's pretty much out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination.
In a new interview, Huckabee equates homosexuality to bestiality.
When talking about his hopes to change the constitution, he says, "Well, I don’t think that’s a radical view to say we’re going to affirm marriage. I think the radical view is to say that we’re going to change the definition of marriage so that it can mean two men, two women, a man and three women, a man and a child, a man and animal. Again, once we change the definition, the door is open to change it again. I think the radical position is to make a change in what’s been historic"

The law needs to be applied equally to all people. A man will never be allowed to marry a goat (choose a farm animal) - a goat is not even a legal entity and cannot give consent to anything, let alone a contract. That's why goats cannot form limited liability corporations or apply for a driver's license (in most states). The same applies for an adult marrying a minor. A minor cannot legally agree to purchase a car without their parent's consent the would continue to apply to marriage. And a minor in most states can currently marry an adult with their parent’s consent.
The idea that allowing same sex marriage will open the door to polygamy is another scare tactic used by the right. The polygamy laws will apply equally to all people - both a straight man and a gay many may only have one spouse at a time. So polygamy laws will stand up to a legal challenge that same sex marriage laws cannot.

They are both destroying this country anyway. A word about popular opinion: many here follow the popular opinion that gay marriage should be up for consideration as legal. Many of these people also support abortion in some form (the woman was a victim of rape, the child will be poor or disabled, etc). The old quote goes "What is popular in not always right; what is right is not always popular." A great example: How many people in America were in support of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq in the beginning? The vast majority in Afghanistan and many in Iraq. I think most Americans would now admit that both conflicts (at least Iraq) were horrible errors of judgment. At the time, it was POPULAR OPINION.

Do I agree with Mike Huckabee totally? No way, but his point on gay marriage is valid, and should be respected like any liberal expects their extreme viewpoints to be respected. When he talks about what is historical, he is simply saying that traditional marriage has stood in our country for a long time, and a change to traditional marriage in his eyes is questionable. Personally, I think marriage is a religious institution, and should be mandated by the church. Marriage and government are a bad mixture, but people will never stand for marriage not in government hands because of their tax return. It all revolves around money. Then, the government can make a decision on civil unions without worrying about those who are traditionally married.
Overall, I think we will eventually pay for our bowing to popular opinion. We need to examine more closely our decision making, not just make decisions based on what everyone else is doing. I could list so much here, but do yourself a favor and look back at history as see what popular opinion has done to our world: The Nazis, The Salem Witch Trials, The Inquisition… this list goes on. And while you are at it, go ahead and point out how religion has carried out two of those three. It was prophesized to Jesus that horrible acts would be carried out in his name. Unfortunately, that prophesy has came true so many times over.
That is why it is important for Christians and other people of faith to be responsible in the application of their beliefs. It is when we have became militant about our faith that we push more people away and begin to more accurately the reflect the ways of Satan, not Jesus, who has set a good example with his holy life. Go ahead and criticize my belief in "zombie carpenters" and so on. Christianity is not a popularity contest. It is a journey of righteousness and faith in what we know in our hearts to be true.

Okay. The great thing about America is that we're diverse. I'm pretty much sick of reading this supposed definition of marriage. Not everyone in America believe in God. We all need to respect other religion and to those who do not believe in God. You idiots know that we do not have a declared religion? We can't impose what we believe in to other people. He's not saying that homosexuality=bestiality or polygamy or any of the aforementioned types of relationships, he's merely stating that once you open the door to change it will be much easier for the more "radical" relationships to pose an argument.
