We're told that Spears' "manager" - Osama Lutfi - gave Carla the axe because they thought she was talking to the media.
Here's the best part, though.
"Carla used to be Britney's maid," an insider tells us. "One day, Britney just decided on a whim that Carla should be her assistant."
