Perez, just because something will cause ire among people or is controversial in it's delivery does not mean it qualifies as humor, edginess or even irreverence. Sometimes it is just plain wrong. Even if YOU were a Preemie it does not give you some clearance to joke about something like this. It's really sad. People lose premature babies every day and would give anything to see them grow. You might as well have said "give money to my Foundation to let people with cancer KEEP their cancer because I think that people who are thin and bald are the epitome of chic". Cmon now. Think more with your heart and not your ego. It is NOT true that all bad press, or ignorant press, is good press. You of all people should get that!

We just brought our preemie home from the hospital–he's now a healthy 4 lbs and growing. The last few months have been so stressful and serious, we actually had a good laugh for the first time in a long time. Thanks Perez!

As another mom to a Preemie who was born 4 months early this really pissed me off. Preemies are no joking matter. I sat in a hospital for 5 months praying every day that my little girl would live and be okay. She was born weighing less than 2 lbs. Thank God today she is happy healthy and one of the most intelligent children I know. I agree with the other person who said that you should do your research and use your "fame" for good. Just so you know, it's 1 in 8 babies that are born premature.

I too think this video was a bad judgement call by Perez. I usually love this blog and read it daily, but am very offended by the play on preemies. As other moms have said… prematurity is NOT a laughing or joking matter. I am the mom of a preemie born 13 weeks early (who by the way is a perfectly normal 4 year old today). At first, i thought maybe Perez was going to do something good for charity-which is why i watched. When I figured out what was going on, I just got more pissed off with every second that went by. When you have a premature baby who struggles for each breath, you hope and pray that they will gain even a fraction of an ounce a day so that one day you can hold them and eventually they might be able to come home. The thought of wanting to keep them small and sick is apauling!!!! For all of you who think this was funny- you need to take a serious look at yourself and your morals. If you want to make this right, and hold on to a little dignity you should make a hefty donation to the march of dimes and apologize publicly. THINK ABOUT IT!

But THIS is not funny……My son was born at 25 weeks (6 months) he weighted 1lbs 8oz,he fought for his life for 3 long hard months,I stayed by his side in the hosptial. Our story is one of many premmies and thankfully my son is a healthy 4 year old!!!!

My first grandchild was born 2 months premature and it was terrifying to see her hooked up to a machine with tubes and monitors all over her tiny little body. I watched my poor daughter go through hell wondering if her baby was going to live and having to leave her every night in the ICU for a month. Today, thankfully, that little baby is three years old, happy, healthy and full of life. Who the HELL cares what they look like when they're fighting for their lives, these precious little babies? Why on earth is this supposed to be funny? It's beyond pond scum pathetic Mr. whoever you are.

I work at a hospital and see premature babies everyday. There is nothing funny about underdeveloped lungs, resp distress, etc.

I put my real name, and my real e-mail address on here, because hey, like one person said, let the hate mail come. My daughter was a preemie. She was born at 34 weeks, weighed 5 pounds, and died at 29 days of age from bacterial meningitis.
I'm sure in your sick little world, babies like those you show in your video are funny. But in mine, where I was a parent of one of those babies, it's just a testimony to the heartbreak I went through, and that so many other parents go through. You're a jerk. I only pray that if you ever breed, you insufferable blob, that you don't have to go through what my husband and I went through. Watching your child struggle for air because their lungs haven't developed…not being able to hold them because their immune system hasn't developed enough…It's torture. With our daughter, we were able to cuddle her–but so many other parents of preemies can't. Ferrell makes funny stuff. Your video is an insult to those of us who have been through the heartache of a premature baby.

Perez I am a loyal reader but the making fun of preemies is offensive. I am a NICU nurse and have had to lay premature infants in their parents arms as they are dying. Yes some of them are cute but many are smaller and less developed than what you showed and they all have serious medical problems, many for life, if they ever leave the NICU. So stick to celebrity culture. Sometimes you just have to draw the line, and sick babies is one of those places.

Me and my twin sister were born preemies, 3 1/2 months early..we both weighed 2 lbs each and had a 40% survival rate..even if we survived we had a 70% chance of being mentally retarded on some scale..luckily, we survived and beat the odds. I understand this is a joke for you, but for some people it's not. My family and I donate at least $1,000 a year either to the March of Dimes or to the NICU where we were born.

Besides the fact that the video was just stupid with nothing funny about it, the concept is also really sick. Premature babies have a lot of medical complications. Thankfully medicine is improving to help them everyday but a lot of premies still end up with residual medical problems & even die. I've walked through a NICU and saw parents crying looking at their babies in incubators. The doctor I was with went up to them & said just pray. I've seen these little babies that weigh less than a can of coke being given breathing treatments & they are so delicate you can literally see the air as it goes through their tiny little bodies. It is sad and someting that people shouldn't want to get a laugh out of but, again, the video was just dumb.
