Team Hillary

Filed under: Latinolicious > Politik > Inspiration > America Ferrera

We've been going back and forth over who we're supporting in the upcoming presidential election.

At first we were Team Barack, but now we've been swinging more towards Clinton.

The more we hear the candidates speak, the more we like what Hillary has to say.

But our mind isn't made up 100% yet and getting informed is super important! We urge you all to do that. And, of course, register to vote if you haven't already done that!

We've been a big fan of the Latinalicious America Ferrera for a while, but after watching this video of the Ugly Betty star campaigning for her favorite candidate in Nevada this past weekend, we like her even more.

It's inspiring!

Ch-ch-check it out.

Hillary is getting all of her money from corporations…Do you want a corporation to continue running your country? The Bush's and Clintons are good friends so we'll have 20 years of their ideas in White House…hmmm have they been doing that awesome? NO! Ron Paul all the way. I like Obama but I just don't think he will save our country…RON PAUL 08…Think of it this way the Government…THE WHOLE GOVERNMENT doesn't want to you to vote for Ron Paul….why? So long Perez…u lost me at hillary.

I have liked them both at times, but we need a uniter, not another polarizing figure. Please support Obama so we have a nation we can all feel good about again instead of being polarized against each other.

Also, experience? Both Obama and Clinton are lacking in the National Government experience department—but Clinton only has four years in the Senate on Obama. Although being the First Lady did give her insight into the White House (and into the Governor's Mansion before that), as a woman, I find it offensive to call that "experience." Her years working as a lawyer count as experience—but to call her years of being a Political Wife experience? Why even get the J.D. then if all you need is the Mrs.! Think about it—are you going to then elect Laura Bush in 2012? I mean, she'll have had both 8 years insight into the White House as First Lady AND she had another 4 as First Daughter-in-Law, and before that she had another 4 has Daughter-in-Law to the VP—Crap, why don't we just call the race now?

Finally, Perez!! Hillary is the best candidate — just look at healthcare, Obama's plan leaves 15 million americans without access to healthcare! That's not acceptable in this day and age (if you don't believe me, check out Krugman's column at nytimes.com). We need someone who is ready to hit the ground running, not someone who's gonna need a six-month learning curve. Plus, if we don't want the crazy republicans running the show, the dems have to nominate someone who can beat the repub's nominee, and obama will get creamed. go hill!

Perez, how could you???????? Did you forget what the Clinton's did to poor little Elian Gonzalez?????????He was rescued at sea by another Cuban exile. His poor mother drowned at sea trying to get her child to freedom. Once he got here Fidel "Monstroso"Castro insisted Clinton give him that child. Clinton bent over and did as he was told. If President Kennedy had been alive he would have told that bastard, " Come and get him you SOB, I'll be standing next to him if you dare!!" Kennedy had balls. He took on the Russians and Castro. IF you claim to be a proud Cubano remember what the Clintons did to that poor little boy. If you can't stand up to Castro, forget China and Putin.

Hillary can't stand up to Obama without constantly distorting his record and the words that come out of his mouth. Do we really want Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton? HELLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ NO. She has 2 more years in the US SEnate, that is it. let's not forget that Obama was also in the Illinoise SEnate for 8 years. SO he actually has just as much experience in elected office as Hillary, if not more. Get your head out of your butt.

"because she's a woman" is the only logical reason TO vote for Hillary.
Her proposed plans and policies are just so poorly thought out. Especially her health care plan. Who wants to be forced to have health care coverage that could suck? Does anyone realize how much mandatory health care will cost America?

The LAST thing this country needs is (a) another 4 or 8 years of Bill…, & (b) the last thing we need is a woman as President (yes, I'm a female, but we don't need one running the free world!)

Clintons have had their day in Washington and running this country. It would be the first four term presidency since FDR if Hillary is elected. Believe me, the Republicans WANT Hillary to be nominated because they know they can beat her. Obama would be much harder to defeat in a GOP/DEM election.

Hillary talks a good game but she is not out for our best interests, she is for lining her own pockets. Look how she screwed up the health care bill. If you watch Michael Moore's SICKO he makes this point that Hillary Clinton became the second largest recipient in the Senate of health care industry contributions.

"As she runs for re-election to the Senate from New York this year and lays the groundwork for a possible presidential bid in 2008, Mrs. Clinton is receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from doctors, hospitals, drug manufacturers and insurers. Nationwide, she is the No. 2 recipient of donations from the industry, trailing only Senator Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, a member of the Republican leadership." Raymond Hernandez and Robert Pear, "Once an Enemy, Health Industry Warms to Clinton," New York Times, July 12, 2006.

While we're getting "informed"…do we want to talk about any of the candidates that aren't in the Democratic party?

Oh no…of course not. We wouldn't want to do that. That would be fascism and group think. We only want to give people a choice between two practically identical candidates in the same party. Well, they are only different in the ways that really matter, like race and gender. Because we're sooooo open-minded.

Hillary Clinton put health care BACK 100 years when she dismantled it and couldn't put it back again. Now she says she'll "get it right". Oh really? How? We don't need ANY LAWYERS running our country. You need business people to run the country. She has no experience either- she hasn't held an elected office until she realized she couldn't run for president til she found a some idiots in New York to elect her to Congress. She lies about everything- even her NAME> she said she was named after Edmund Hillary- then she got caught in that lie (as usual) when the dates didn't match up. She is a typical lawyer- full of bullshit until she gets caught. The Clinton machine is vicious. I'm glad Obama (though I am not an Obama fan either) can stand up to team Clinton. He has my respect for that. Quit worrying about abortion for crissakes. It is a non issue in this age of RU and birth control.

THREE things peres– consider1) McClurkin (the anti-gay minister who was invited to FOUR of Obama's campaign events, and NOT disinvited even AFTER he spoke out against gays, because of Obama's pandering to a homophobic African American base.

    2) his whole "Christianity affects everything I do", I think people should be free to believe whatever they want, but if that is going to affect equal rights for all in this country, and if it means he's going to start to lean right on issues such as abortion- we might as well elect a republican

    3) Universal healthcare, Obama is the ONLY democratic candidate who does NOT have a mandatory universal healthcare plan, and he got SLAMMED for it today during the debates

ALSO he stuttered, stammered and misspoke during the ENTIRE debate, he's not even a great SPEAKER when he doesn't have a script infront of him.

I wish Sen. Obama all the best in his future ventures but as a President we just don't need a preacher we need a President that will stand up for the American people. Wouldn't it be nice to see someone out there in a pair of jean, a sweatshirt, a ball cap and a pair of work boots telling it like it is, instead of a suit??? Look people all I am saying is that we need someone that will tackle the real things out there like terrorism, economy, education and global warming, not someone that is there to make us feel like we are in church every day. Hillary just got beaten down in the early 90's when she was fighting for universal health care. She certainly didn't push back the health care system in our country 100 years…she just didn't change it back then. She had not only politicians fighting against her, but huge pharmaceutical corporate conglomerates. Her husband was a relatively new president in his first term and she folded into the pressure. She was just the wife of a president fighting for what she thought was right and she got beaten down by the machine. Thirteen years later (or whatever) she has proven herself a leader and a very beloved senator of NY. Hillary now has the tools to get shit done. She is not just a presidents wife any longer.

    GO HILLARY!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh no! Quel horreur! Did you watch the debate tonight? Hilary and Bill brought us years of gridlock and rancor that ultimately put Jr. Bush in the house. Hilary showed the same divisive tactics tonight, and Bill's desperate lashing out at Obama just underscores the problem. Spare me! Obama is twice as smart, and infinitely more charismatic. And look at those gorgeous daughters that we'll get to watch grow up in the White House if we elect him! Please, Perez, won't you reconsider? Maybe Halle Barry can convince you!

    186

I'm disappointed…Hilary Clinton's campaign is full of nothing but empty promises. She is simply saying what she needs to say to get elected…Why is it that I see Obama and Clinton's names all over the media but I have yet to see RON PAUL being supported anywhere…I HIGHLY SUGGEST THAT PEOPLE START PAYING SOME ATTENTION TO RON PAUL. HE IS THE ONLY CANDIDATE THAT I WOULD VOTE FOR, HE IS ALL ABOUT AMERICA GOING BACK TO THE COUNTRY THAT WAS FOUNDED. IF OUR FOUNDING FATHERS COULD SEE WHAT HAS BECOME OF OUR COUNTRY AND OUR CORRUPT GOVERNMENT, THEY WOULD ROLL OVER IN THEIR GRAVES.

    …..RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENTTTTT!!!!!!!!!

Doesn't the sniping and lying about your opponent remind you of the old Clinton campaign of the 80's??? It's the political machine of saying anything, not matter what to just win…

We need someone new, with fresh ideas…btw, when did she get 35 years of experience…as Chris Rock said in his stand up.."so you get experience by being married to someone? If you boarded a plane and the pilot's wife was in the captain's chair would you board the flight?" She spent the majority of her career as a lawyer and is a one term and a half senator..

Clinton and Obama are the same…..the only Democrat who wants to do you and I any good is Kucinich. Obama and Clinton both can't make a commitment to be out of Iraq by 2013.

But for my 2 cents, Ron Paul for President. Have the government leave everyone alone. Let's stop being pussys, and take care of ourselves.

RIGHT THERE WITH YOU!!! liking hil more and more and really not feeling obama…he keeps "playing the part" of the outsider and 'new' fresh untainted, 'wont' play the political game, but a) you cannot be where he is and NOT play the game, and B) he's SO BLATANTLY playing it its making me ill. He interprets what she says and uses it to his advantage and i'm hating it. I know that is politics, but dont try to pretend to be above it all….after today i was like completely 100% behind hil. FYI she's not against or for abortion…CHOICE and being "FOR" abortion are two differnet things erica. i am completely pro choice but want the number of abortions to go down. it shouldnt be a method of birth control!
