Team Hillary

Filed under: Latinolicious > Politik > Inspiration > America Ferrera

We've been going back and forth over who we're supporting in the upcoming presidential election.

At first we were Team Barack, but now we've been swinging more towards Clinton.

The more we hear the candidates speak, the more we like what Hillary has to say.

But our mind isn't made up 100% yet and getting informed is super important! We urge you all to do that. And, of course, register to vote if you haven't already done that!

We've been a big fan of the Latinalicious America Ferrera for a while, but after watching this video of the Ugly Betty star campaigning for her favorite candidate in Nevada this past weekend, we like her even more.

It's inspiring!

Ch-ch-check it out.

What the Fuck are you guys thinking???????????
Obama has no experience compared to Clinton!!!
Hillary Clinton is by far the best choice!
Also no one should love abortion!!! It is ok to have it as an option but to say you love it is disgusting and you should really think about what Obama is saying (If he even said that?)!!
Knowlege is power and I think this is the best way to cut back on abortions; I believe this is what Clinton meant!!

Just another example that you can have alot of money and still be stupid… Hillary give me a brake. her and her husband screwed up the 8 years they were in office. Why give them another chance to do more damage.

Neither one is really on the top of my list, I'm more for Ron Paul. However, chances are, he doesn't stand one ;)

anyway, Clinton represents the status quo. She's taken a lot of money from interest groups and what not, which … if we've learned anything from the past … means if she gets into office she's going to be a slave to the groups who gave her the money to begin with (can't get reelected if the money doesn't come back ;) )

Obama is a little more sensible in that department, and he preaches change. He wants to see a better world, blah blah blah. I'm sure you've heard it before. Sadly, who knows WHAT change he's even talking about anymore? HOW is he going to change things? he's practically a newbie to the political world where as Clinton has been through hell and high water not only on her own but through her husband's presidency.

so who do you choose? do you take the experience and status quo over the newbie who promises to change America for the better?

either way, it has to be better than what we have now. Right?

    412

Say it ain't so! Barrack Obama is the only choice who can bring both parties together and have a chance at getting things done. I as a woman want to see a woman president in my lifetime, but no way am I voting for Hillary just to see that happen. I will wait for a woman candidate whom I can trust. I find it offensive that she has Bill (and I was a huge Bill Clinton supporter) "fight her battles" for her. She is running…let her do it. She knows he is more likable so she lets him do the bad cop routine. This country has been divided too long and we need someone with fresh ideas and who can be non partisan. How long has this country been run by a Bush or a Clinton????? Time for a change. I also get sick of her "I have 8 years in the white house bit." Yeah.. so does the Chef. Experience is good but she does not have the experience she likes to talk about. She jumps on Obama for using advisors……find one president in history who did not have advisors. She seems to think her opinion and judement are all that matters. Obama encourages debate and discussion about his ideas with advisors etc. I'll take Obama thank you.

It's just stunning to see people actually supporting a hard-line Communist like Hillary Clinton, especially after we had her husband for eight miserable, embrarrassing years. I mean, you've got to have something seriously wrong with you to think she'd make a good president.

  20. Liza says – reply to this

    420

No Perez! Hillary stayed in a total sham of a marriage just to ride her husband's coattails to success - hardly a good example of how the first woman president should get things done. She also stood by while he harassed women left and right without a word - and this is supposed to be a strong, 21st century modern woman? Furthermore, we had the Clintons for 8 years already - as much as Bill is involved now, it would be like a third term!

Hillary? Live in NY, never see her there except for fundraising and photo ops. How much more voting is she missing being on the road? and she hits on Obama for his voting. We have diasters, flooding in the state and she rarely shows for support-Schumer is a much better senator. I have met her, can't stand the way she swings her views to accommadate who ever she is speaking too. I am a woman, and I would never vote for her because 'we have never had a woman president' Assholes. .THis is not a vote for Mayor or something where the wrong person can not start a war.

AND as for the RUMOR-RUMOR that Obama is Muslim-HE WAS NEVER A MUSLIM AND IS CHRISTIAN. From his site: Barack Obama Is Not and Has Never Been a Muslim. Obama never prayed in a mosque. He has never been a Muslim, was not raised a Muslim, and is a committed Christian who attends the United Church of Christ.

I am not saying I will vote Obama, but I will not vote to put team Clinton back in the white house.

  23. rob says – reply to this

    423

I have to echo previous comments about the Clintons further dividing the country. You can have all the great ideas in your campaign but if you can't marshal the support you need on Capitol Hill to get legislation passed, it is all for nothing. Obama clearly presents greater promise for bringing people together from both sides of the aisle to solve America's problems. Not another Clinton White House!!!

I was really young when Clinton was in office, but, like me, I think the only thing people seem to remember is his affair, which really was what ruined him. Other than that didn't he do a pretty good job? I watched the debate last night, I really like how she straight up basically says that she needs to undo everything bush did…maybe the people who hate her so much were his supporters…lol.

  31. Amy says – reply to this

    431

Obama is definitely the best choice! The Clinton campaign is a politcal machine, and not what this country needs. Hilary is very polarizing, and it will only further the divide. And why is she so experienced? She has not been the in the Senate that long. Does Bill being President count as part of her resume? In that case, then she should also take credit for them NOT killing Bin Laden when they had the chance, the Whitewater scandal, Bill lying under oath….. Is this really what we want in the White House after the 8 years we've had??!!

Why do you want the government to have even more control over your life? Does that make you feel 'free'? AND a woman as president?! Sheer HORMONES keep that from being realistic. All of you that can only focus on the worldly irrelevant issue of abortion (we are at war!!!), how about a man who's delivered 4000 babies…. Google Ron Paul now…

Perez, I have always been a fan of yours but I have to disagree with you here. Haven't the Clinton's always said what people wanted to hear? Are you falling victim to Billary? Didn't Bill and Hillary always turn out to be liars such as when they were busted with whitewater, Monica Lewinsky and other indiscretions, pardoning people Bill shouldn't have, private use of presidential transportation for personal family and friend use, cattle investment scam, etc. General Colin Powell said it best yesterday on The View (which I know you watch). He won't mention who he is backing as he thinks it is important for all voters to make their own informed decisions and understand candidate positions. Stop listening to the political propaganda and stop pimping out your thoughts as you know people will listen to them and celebrity endorsements especially young voters who don't take the time to research the issues that are most important to them.

As a NY'er, Hillary has done nothing for us. She listens to us and then goes about her own way to serve her own agenda. To all who said it's time for a woman, I agree this world is ready for a woman president - just not her. Let's look at her track record in voting and her "35 years of experience". First lady doesn't mean she attended critical meetings. Clintons have always back tracked on what they have said and scammed people time and time again. If people REALLY want change, she is not the answer. Vote based on issues, not gender, or race but what is important to you.

The reason you like what Hillary says is because she says what people want to hear. She will say anything to get the votes, but in my opinion she is the least likely to actually follow through with 80% of what she says. She doesn´t speak to the people from her heart, she looks at statistics of what the general population wants and creates a solution that is anything but sincere.

No matter what your opinion is, just remember that your comments are read by many people (a lot of whom are not well informed about politics and the candidates) and you can easily influence others. Ok, that´s my lecture for the day, cheers from SC!

As a State Senator Barack failed to vote one hundreds times and take a position when he had the chance to support or oppose various policies. He voted present instead of taking a position for or against , which I think speaks volumes towards his inexperience and incompetence.
Hillary has the guts, know how, and experience to lead America back on the right path that we all strayed from when Bush took over.

Hillary Clinton is the only choice out of everyone running for President. The Republican candidates are embarrassing and are white males who have coasted through life and their situations. Listen to them speak! They are uninformed and do not have creative ideas. Their station in life will not win the presidency for them this time!

Obama didn't want to run for Presidency, remember? Oprah was pushing him into it when he was on her show a few months before January 2007. He wasn't into it and probably (smartly) knew he had too little experience for the job. However, after research and review, his advisors and wife might have thought they had a chance with the "Oprah effect." (like the book club, duh!!!) It worked for a little while after her million dollar fundraiser but he doesn't have the ideas, the cred, or the experience you need to have for the Presidency.

Obama is the candidate that is going to and always spoke of getting the youth involved. After conceding in Iowa with all these older people in the background, the next day she did a speech talking about the youth and they strategically filled the background with young people….going by what she is saying now makes no sense, they are letting Obama talk seeing what makes him sound good and trying to make it their own. All she is saying now is what her strategists asre telling her to say. Obama's speeches were original from day one back at the DNC befor he was even running.

Re: Hillary WILL be the Greatest President
First of all that is about 100 times from over 4000 votes. Secondly, you vote present because you are for the bill but don't agree with it 100%. Everyone in the Illinois senate has that right, you should not have to support a bill that may have had a provision in there added to maybe appease the "other side" that may take away from what it was originally meant for. But you can't vote against it because then it's killed and you have to start from scratch.

Even if you can afford to pay, they do not have to sell you a private health insurance policy if you have anything on your medical records they don't like, and they can drop you at any time. Hillary Clinton is the only one who WILL make health insurance for all a reality.

    471

Barack is the only candidate who can bring this divided country together. He is warm, smart, educated, and will enter the presidency with a fresh, untarnished approach and a history free of the baggage that comes from being a veteran of the White House. He knows how to keep his religion out of his politics, wants to end the war, is fighting to free us from our dependency on middle-eastern oil, and unlike the asshole in the office right now, he KNOWS there is a climate crisis and intends to fight it. Please, if you care about restoring America's tarnished reputation in the world, choose Barack. If you care about how veterans are treated, choose Barack. Most of all, if you are feeling like there is no hope and that the current administration has fucked our country beyond repair, choose Barack. A CHANGE IS COMING. THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL IS STARTING TO APPEAR. CHOOSE HOPE. CHOOSE CHANGE. CHOOSE BARACK OBAMA.

And Erica - did you read what you wrote? Obama loves abortion? Are you kidding?
I agree with the Clintons that abortion should be rare. I am 100% for women's rights to choose, however, I think that if societal systems were improved, the need for abortion would decrease. Let's educate more about brith control. Let's see more young people going to school. Let's provide social systems that can support young mothers rather than making women feel they do not have any options. Let's get tougher on violence against women to allow women to make choices… etc etc….

Obama wasn't weak in the debate - everything he called Hills and Bills out on was true. Put her up as the Dem nominee and don't be surprised if she doesn't win the Prez - Independents and a number of Dems would rather vote the other way than vote Hillary. She's divisive, Billary plays dirty tricks - this is a step backwards, not forwards. Don't waste a chance for someone like Obama on people that shouldn't be angling for a third term in the first place and won't win it anyway.

Mama - I don't think your instincts are on this time. I could see exactly what was going to happen when you re-elected Bush and said so when it wasn't popular - now no one would disagree with me.

Hillary is a huge mistake - take off the rose coloured glasses of a time gone by - the Clinton failings will be brought back into sharp relief - they already are coming back into sharp relief.

Obama is one of those candidates that rarely comes along and I have a very strong feeling that he will become known as one of the greatest Presidents of the United States of America - and I have looked into what he is about deeply and I am not easily impressed by people. I could not give him a fuller endorsement.

Put up Hillary and you will squander the chance to have a Dem Prez. Obama's not here to wait around and have you tell him to 'season up a bit' - his message and his character and his judgment, his intellect, his way with people - there are here right now - take it and put away the fear hat and put on the hope one.

PS. For the last 2000 years (and before that) this world has been about division - let's make the next 2000 years about reconciliation. This is one planet, we all call it home. All of the divisions and hate and prejudice we have in this world came from brother fighting with brother. Look into ancient history - our problems come from one family squabble after another, that has pulled us further and further apart and become more complex with time - but still the same pattern repeating itself. We are one family - this is one earth. I support Obama because his message is unity and what we can achieve by that - I believe that unity is the challenge for humankind for the future and if we fail then we will all be toast.

Read Obama's plans. They are very conservative. His health care is complete garbage and does not include everybody. His proposed fiscal plan is (mostly) more borrow-and-spend. Yeah, he might've been anti-iraqi-war from the start but the plan he proposed to pull troops out is terrible and extremely vague. At least Hillary knows what she's doing. Her health care plans rocks, her fiscal policy will get us out of this recession as she has pledged to rollback on the most abusive tax policies bush has introduced, and her plan to leave iraq is sound and shows that she has tons of foreign policy experience.

For all of you who question Obama's faith and indicate he is muslim, check out his page and other media outlets who have proved otherwise. Do your homework people and stop listening to smear campaigns from other candidates and media outlets who show bias. If you really think you know your candidate think again. Do your homework, research the issues, or use a candidate calculator like Vajoe and other web sites. You might be surprised to see who you support once you research and know the issues.

Hillary Clinton staffers disenfranchise voters in Nevada! Over 200 reports of voter suppression and dirty tricks like closing doors early on Obama and Edwards voters. Hillary staffers told Obama and Edwards voters they are at the wrong precincts when they were not. This happened all across Nevada. Why is she acting like Bush?

Hillary Clinton and her surrogates engaged in several accounts of race baiting over the past two months. You support that kind of person?

Hillary Clinton, her husband and surrogates lied repeatedly about Obama, his record and what he actually has said several times. Do you support that?

Hillary Clinton sent out a flyer in NH full of lies about Obama regarding Women Rights. Right before the primary.

Hillary Clinton staffers sent out mass emails saying Obama was a secret Muslim when he is a devote Christian. Do you want that kind of person leading the country?

There are much, much more of these kinds of dirty tricks and down right disgusting behavior that is more then reminiscent of Karl Rove.

28 years of a Bush or Clinton running for President. How well has that all worked out for you all?

Obama is for an open government. Hillary is not. She said she would "consider" if she would abuse the rule of law and the US Constitution the way the Bush Administration has.

Obama said he will follow the rule of law and the US Constitution.

You want real change? Then don't vote for Hillary.

If the common man wants to stay poor, no health care, and every other meaningful program cut - vote Republican…. I'm voting for Hillarie and proud of it. She can fix alot of problems in our society - if the Republicans will let her. Keep Voting Democrat Across The Board! America needs help - FAST…
