a mighty heart tanked at the box office. The Oscars dont usually go for that, its also been a while since it came out, and sorry, but there were much better films then that this year. of course, they oscars overlook some actors, movies, blah blah, but if they have real talent, they will probably get a nod later on. boycott? idiots, you just like to run your mouths and cry about stupid shit.

Atonement is the best movie EVER!!!!! it deserves best film, best adapted screenplay, best music and James Mccavoy should have gotten nominated for his breath-taking performance… sniff…

  8. Wut wut says – reply to this

    108

Are some of you really that stupid? Hollywood is full of rich, gorgeous women with unbelievable bodies, super hot husbands/boyfriends, and everything they want at their fingertips…and some of you think those goddesses are JEALOUS of Angelina Jolie and that's why she's not nominated? What are they jealous of? They've got money, looks, fame. Face it, Jolie is not talented and the only thing she can stir up is controversy from her sluttiness and fake charity work.

I don't care what anyone says, Ellen Page deserves that nod. Juno's screenplay was not written for everyone and can only really be appreciated by film buffs. There's ALWAYS films like No Country For Old Men and There Will Be Blood, but Juno is one of a kind. And the soundtrack is amazing! Go Ellen!!

If they'll leave the political crap out of the televised ceremony, I may watch it this year. I WANT TO BE ENTERTAINED - after all, it's a ceremony about the movies - duh.

    115

I thought they weren't broadcasting this shit like they didn't broadcast the Golden Globes? Now all of the self-indulgent, overpaid "actors" can pat each other on the back for playing "make-believe" again. Seriously, these people were never popular growing up so they had to become actors to fill that void in their lives. They are still unpopular, because they have no real social skills. They only know how to interact with each other. Social retards and outcasts. No wonder they are paid millions.

  16. Haligonian says – reply to this

I dont' care about these nominees. Last year was much better. I do like Daniel Day Lewis and the Coens brothers though. So I'll be rooting for them. Anyway Perez why no mention of your precious bitch Angelina Jolie getting snubbed? HAHAHAHA!!! YOu know bitch is so upset because she was just begging for it. I mean she intended this movie to be her OSCAR MOVIE AND SHE DIDN"T GET SHIT!!! HAHAHAHA! SUCKS FOR HER SHE'S PROBABLY PISSED BECAUSE SHE SO THOUGHT SHE WAS GETTING IN!!!AHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

marion cotillard va réaliser le rêve Français!!!

  31. Good luck to the nominees says – reply to this

    131

Why does everything always have to go back to the Brangelina's ?!! Goodness give credit whre credit is due. There are some amazing performances out there and their are being recognized. The Brangelinas really don't need an Oscar anyway their pay checks alone are enough to let the world know what the film makers think of their craft. The producers obviously think their are worth their weight in gold. No pun intended. And they contiune to hire them and pay the big bucks, why because they know that Branglelinas will deliver….Oscar or not. Their performances were great there were just some performance that were a little better thats all.

  32. Tom says – reply to this

    132

I was actually pretty happy with the nominations. Juno gets nominated for Best Picture, Johnny Depp and Elaine Page are nominated. Keira Knightley and Angelina Jolie don't get nominated. I loved Enchanted, but agreed it didn't deserve three nominations. Spread the love and nominate Eddie Vedder!

  33. indigohaze says – reply to this

    133

urgghhh why didnt; Angelina Jolie get a nomination for a mighty heart?.. she should have done!

  34. JG says – reply to this

    134

If Juno wins for any of these, the Oscars will be dead to me. Ellen Page is great, but this movie was so badly written that I damn near left within the first 15 minutes.

  35. Cynthia says – reply to this

    135

Now dont get me wrong I love Johnny Depp but I think its really ridiculous that he gets a nom and HelenaBonham Carter doesnt?!? I thought she was even better than Depp.

  36. ANY BETS?? says – reply to this

    136

Awwww, no nomination for the craptacular Mighty Heart, with the equally craptacular AJ.
Who wants to bet that since she was overlooked, her next move for publicity and attention will be: I AM SPERMINATED!????

Jolie is a fake and as she ages and her skin starts to sag, the real shit will be oozing out. She'll always be a HAG in my book.

    154

Juno was good, but not Oscar-worthy good. Ellen Page is good, but when placed next to people like Cate Blanchett, she's suddenly dismissable. Atonement is an Oscar-worthy film as were the performances of James and Keira. Honestly, I'm very disappointed that films like Juno (the dialogue is beyond superficial) got so much buzz this year.

  55. It's a very, very, VERY sad day in Loonyville :( says – reply to this

    155

Break out the widow wear and hankies y'all cuz there has been an upset in Loonyville. AJ WASN'T NOMINATED. You heard it right!
There is a huge pity party being thrown over at JJ's so be sure to stop on by and throw up your condolences and well wishes, and share in the crazies grief.
I bet poor AJ's eyes are as swollen as her lips from all the boo hooing at not fooling the Oscar voters this year.
Yes folks, sad day indeed in Loonyville!

  56. What the... says – reply to this

    156

What the fuck? Some crock-of-shit actress like Ellen Page who was in one extremely unfunny movie somehow manages to beat Keira Knightley for the best actress nomination?

Just further proves that these award shows are a joke.

What's the f*ing deal with the music category????? Hello Jonny Greenwood???? Eddie Veder??? FUCK DISNEY! they should cancel the Oscars just for fucking up that category so badly! Juno was a great flick and deserves all the noms….but why is Planet Earth not in there for documentaries….and no Sweeny Todd in the makeup category?? I'm just thankful Hairspray didn't show up! any movie where Travolta dresses up like a fat woman and sings and dances is never ok, even though ya gotta love Christopher Walken….no matter what! All I'm say'n is if Persepolis doesn't win the best animated feature film then I will truly feel sorry for the human race!

I'm so pissed that 3:10 to Yuma wasn't honored with more than that! Christian Bale should have been nominated. It should have been nominated for Best Picture. That film was flawless!! Ben Foster also did a great job as a supporting actor. What the hell?

  75. Too many good movies this year says – reply to this

    175

Seriously, thank god the people on this site do NOT pick oscar nominees. Angelina Jolie??? Are you all retarded??? I mean you all are stupid enough not to realize that her accent in that movie wasn't even passable!(I have heard Mrs. Pearl speak, so don't give any excuses, it was not passable) There are many good movies out this year, unlike many years, so it is harder to narrow it down. I think many of you are not the authority on what is a good movie though. Just because you didn't like a certain movie does not mean it wasn't good cinematically. Kiera not being nominated was surprising, but its not like she won't ever have a chance again, I mean she has already had one oscar nom. but all of you bitching about ellen page, don't worry she will not win so don't spaz out. The truth is that there were way too many great movies this year and there has been bigger mistakes made by the Oscars in the past when it comes to winners. At least when the winner is announced there is no way the movie wasn't deserving(maybe some of you should see all of these movies before commenting too)

Awesome day. Hollywood finally realized what the rest of us already knew…. jolie can't fool anyone with her painted on black skin, bad wig and unconvincing accent. She couldn't act her way out of a paper bag. So sad that the loonies blame Aniston & friends for riggin' the oscars. Maybe JOlie can name her next child Oscar - tribute to the one she LOST. Loonies need to be hit over the head with a pipe before they realize she sucks as an actress. Can you hear the silence? that's the sound of defeat from the obsessed fans. LMAO.

where the hell is Denzel's nomination for American Gangster.Tommy Lee Jones was barely in No Country for Old Men. Javier bardem had a bigger role than him. if anyhting he should have gotten nominated before Tommy for best lead actor. And secondly, people may hate Angelina because she is beautiful and talented(its like all white gurls havve a vendetta against her bc she got brad pitt and jennifer aniston's homely lookin ass couldnt keep him) but a mighty heart was amazingly heartbreaking. those talkin bad about it are the ones that probably never saw it. the ending is one of the most moving parts in cinema! so all of you haters need 2 go 2 hell!

    187

To #189 Anistonsucka: First, please learn the language. 2nd - get your information straight. Aniston did NOT act in girl interrupted - that was Jolie. Also, this isn't about Aniston, it's about the fact that Pitt shoved that Mighty Heart movie down the throats of the public who weren't interested in seeing it because it WAS a heartwrenching true story. We didn't need to rehash what happened only 6 years ago. Even if she didn't GET Brad, she still would've sucked in the movie…. only difference is that she may not have had the opportunity to f*ck the role up without Brad casting her in it !

The only 3 nods I saw there that were worth anything were the ones for Depp Cloney and Ellen Page.
Did no one see FUR? hello? Nicole Kidman and Robert Downey Jr. were AMAZING. God the masses who watch movies these days are fucking yokels. Same goes for music.

sooo glad to not see keira knightly and denzel washington up there…completely over rated and im sorry but american gangster is decidedly average…denzel plays the character like he plays every other character with an ounce of nobility…its stupid…he is stupid. i dnt get all this hype around him…i am rooting for daniel day-lewis, javier bardem, ellen page and amy ryan…maybe also george clooney…he is so awesum…and no country for old men for film
