'80s sitcom star Roseanne has posted another shortsighted tirade on her blog.
This time, she says:

has refused to do a show with the FIRST WOMAN candidate for President who has EVER won a primary election, in the history of the United States of America. I saw Hilary on the ridiculous tyra banks' show, and fumed. Hilary deserves to have been able to address the huge female demographic that Oprah's billions came from. How very disgusting, and how very very telling!! Maybe if Hilary was discussing her fat thighs Oprah would have had her on. Oprah doesn't really seem to respect the intelligence of her audience at all. Obama slaps the faces of his supporters with his traitorous praise of ronald reagan, the man who singlehandedly destroyed the working people, the economy, and the mental health safety net in this country, and told inner city kids that ketchup was a vegetable. I pray for the speedy failure of his divisive anti-feminist campaign. Oprah COULD HAVE delivered her viewers an audience with the most powerful and successful woman in American politics since Eleanor Roosevelt, and the only democratic candidate who has a prayer of winning this election at the most crucial time there has ever been in this country. I believe its she and David Geffen's plan to elect fellow billionaire Romney. This country's not going to elect a democrat who speaks well of republicans and reagan, like Barack Hussein Obama does. Also, I don't understand what your problem is Perez because what Rosie said in her blog entry is right. Oprah has built her career (and fortune) on specifically targeting women. Her show was orginally focused (and marketed) to and for women, what issues were important to women, what appealed to women, ect., and now when a woman actually stands a chance of becoming president Oprah has deliberatedly ignored Hillary.
I believe it isn't because of Obama's race, I believe it is because Oprah wants to be the FIRST female president.

I don't like Obama because of what he said about Social Security and Ronald Reagan. He also thought it was politically expedient to jettison his pro-gay approach to get the African-American vote. Obama is the first black man that can be president. So, why should Oprah support a woman first. African Americans have struggled many centuries under the white man and woman. It is also good to point out why Perez Hilton is supporting Hilary is because many people in Mexico are racist. I am not making this up. The problem with Hilary is that her husband talks too much. While I was generally happy during the Bill Clinton years (compared with Bush), I don't think he has any right being so involved in the primaries and Hilary Clinton should make sure she's doing it in her own right and keeps him entirely separate. I'm a woman and I can't stand it when I see women who's husbands do their work for them. It's a folly. That and she sold out on health care. Time for some honesty in the Whitehouse. I don't think Oprah has had Obama or Hillary on her show since they became candidates. I think Oprah, like all Americans, should be allowed to support the candidate of their choice. Why should women support Hillary just because she's female or Black Americans support Obama because they're the same race?? Should men only be allowed to vote for men?? Voting takes intelligence and shouldn't be taken lightly.
Ya know - she is typically crazazy- but this is actually right on. I can certainly appreciate if Oprah chooses to endorse a candidate, but her responsibility to her audience, primarily woman, would be to give Hillary at least a spot on the show. Oprah isn't obligated to have Hillary on the show - it's HER show and she has the right to invite or refuse anyone she wants. I think everyone is putting WAAAY too much emphasis on Hillary simply because she's a woman. We shouldn't vote her into office just so we can have our first woman president - we should only vote her into office if she is the best candidate. This really isn't much of a big deal - it's a television show - people should be getting their facts and forming opinions by researching elsewhere anyway.

Obama was on Oprah's show way BEFORE he announced that he was running for president. She has not done a show on him as a presidential candidate. Secondly, as a woman who wants to change the world, she has every right to do what she thinks will support that. Why is it up to her to be silent just because she is on television? If Obama's black supporters are voting for him just because he's black, then why are his white supporters voting for him, especially white women?

Roseanne is absolutely correct; It is the first time we have a viable female candidate for the highest office in the country, and somehow this isn't worthy of an Oprah show? I'm sure, as Roseanne mentioned, if Hillary had gained weight and then lost it, she'd be given an hour; or if she'd travelled through India and eaten for a year to find herself after Bill's infidelity, she'd be given two! It's outrageous, really, when you think about the loyalty women have showed Oprah over the years. I think it's time for women to take back their power, and TURN OFF OPRAH! Just say NOPRAH!!!!!!!!!!!
I usually disagree with Roseanne, but this time she is dead on. Oprah owes it to her audience to INFORM them and allow them to choose who they want.
Im sick of people who only back candidates because of their color or gender. I like Hillary because she is the best candidate for the job, regardless!
Why or how Obama became the media darling while Edwards gets shafted, I have no idea.
I hope Edwards runs as Hillary's VP when she gets the nom.

Re: professor – Hillary doesn't rely on Bill's resume. Her resume speaks for itself. She did have an office in the West Wing, unheard of for first ladies, AND she is an accomplished lawyer, investor, and hmmm, didn't she win a term as a Senator in some big state somewhere?
