Heath Ledger died in his Manhattan SoHo-based apartment. He was found at 3:35 pm on Tuesday, January 20th. He was found with pills strewn around him in his bedroom by his housekeeper. He was brought to the hospital and pronounced dead soon after. It is unclear whether or not this was suicide, accidental overdose, or other unusual circumstances. (NYPD source, directly off NY air)

The police said they did not suspect foul play and said they found pills near the body.
