Scary Foreshadowing

This article from The New York Times published just two months ago shed a new light on the untimely death of Heath Ledger:
“I stressed out a little too much,” Mr. Ledger said.
He tends to do that. He is here in London filming the latest episode of the “Batman”franchise, “The Dark Knight.” (Mr. Bale, as it happens, plays Batman; Mr. Ledger plays the Joker.) It is a physically and mentally draining role — his Joker is a “psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy” he said cheerfully — and, as often happens when he throws himself into a part, he is not sleeping much.
“Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night,” he said. “I couldn’t stop thinking. My body was exhausted, and my mind was still going.” One night he took an Ambien, which failed to work. He took a second one and fell into a stupor, only to wake up an hour later, his mind still racing.
Even as he spoke, Mr. Ledger was hard-pressed to keep still. He got up and poured more coffee. He stepped outside into the courtyard and smoked a cigarette. He shook his hair out from under its hood, put a rubber band around it, took out the rubber band, put on a hat, took off the hat, put the hood back up. He went outside and had another cigarette. Polite and charming, he nonetheless gave off the sense that the last thing he wanted to do was delve deep into himself for public consumption. “It can be a little distressing to have to overintellectualize yourself,” is how he put it, a little apologetically.

God, I'm beside myself. What a huge waste of talent and human being. It is really sad that his little girl will have to grow without a father. I was a huge admirer of his work, trully amazing. I guess that this should be a clear message that the Hollywood life lead to absolutly nothing good. Especially to all those girls with all their partying and drugs and booze.

didn't he have pnemonia (or however u spell it) though, my dad's a doctor and he always told us not to over exersize if u have it because it can trigger cardiac arrest in rare cases. It would be sad if everyone thought he OD or committed suicide when it was just his heart reacting to the strain of pumping blood to and from his congested lungs

ugh, that just freaked me out reading this. my dad died of cancer in june last year and i'm still horrified (obviously since i'm only 22) but they kept giving him ambien to die pretty much. he was also stupor when i found him and was taking sleeping pills. GUARANTEE this is what killed heath. so sad… where do we go when we die?? so upsetting.
He was an incredibly talented actor who it seems, was worked to death. He will be sorely missed and never forgotten. The diversity of his roles have grown up with his fans. he has taken us with him through out his journey into stardom and this is a huge loss to hollywood and all those who cared about him. RIP
I think this is so terriblly sad. My heart goes out to his little girl. It is such a terrible loss, what a huge talent!! I guess this is an example of the fucked up messd up hollywood life!! I hope this is lesson learnd to all those lost girls boozing it up and doing all sorts of drugs. It doesn't lead to anything good.

as much as i love to be the first to know all the breaking news in hollywood, it would have been really nice for his family to find out from authorities rather than the media as was the case here in oz this morning. it is crazy here with tributes and stuff and that is how they found out. if my kid died and it was blasted acrsos the news that he\she died from a suspected drug oversdose when they don't really know the cause i would be totally devastated. i know you guys make money out of this but please be considerate! RIP Heath! you will be sorely missed in oz!

RIP Heath, it's so sad to see such a young actor with so much talent and so much and so much more that he could have done just be gone like this. It's almost hard to believe that he's really gone.
I'm still in a state of shock over Heath's passing. I watched the clip of his body leaving the apartment. It was absolutly horrific and it really hit me hard just knowing my favorite actor is gone. I will remember him most for his role in A Knights Tale. I pray that his family will be able to grieve this tragic loss in private. RIP Heath you are missed by so many right now. You will indeed live on through your daughter Mitilda!

Very sad to hear this. Heath was a very good actor and a potential master of his craft. Don't anyone forget the brilliant "Knight's Tale".
Ugh- I never felt this bad when a celebrity died. I cant even fathom how Michelle Williams must feel— and his daughter looks JUST like him…it's such a sad ending for such an inspiring young actor.
I just want to send my love and deep sympathy to Heath Ledger's family. He was a charismatic, sweet and talented actor, but above all of this, a proud father to a sweet baby girl. I hope everyone can remember that this actor was a human being and speak of him with respect. We don't know all the facts yet, so let's just keep him in our heart rather than make this all about petty gossip. In the end, it won't really matter exactly how he passed away. The fact is he did, and that little girl now has to grow up without her daddy. Heath, we love you and you are in our prayers. You will be terribly missed.

the minute i saw this i couldnt help but start crying i heard about it but was hoping it was just another hollywood rumor. He was a great and handsome actor and i hope the whole world knows it.
I think he developed a manic state of bipolar disorder. He related to the joker because he was going through the same shit. When you're manic bordering on psychotic/schizophrenic its a very mentally and physically draining lifestyle, but your mind and body cannot rest. It sounds like the same shit I have. It'sa shame, he was taking ambien which is for more of a physical problem, than for manic episodes which affect you physilogically (having excessive energy, being extremelly goal oriented, unable to sleep because u can't turn your mind off), which is why it didn't work. Bipolar can also worsen with influence i.e. being influenced emotionally by someone who is bipolar (i.e. the joker I guess?), but he obviously took the breakup hard. It could be an accidental overdose on Ambien, or he was in the depths of depression. Britney is lucky she just stays up all night, fucks everything up because she can't organize her thoughts, and never tried to wrongly mitigate the problem like Heath had. Psychiatrists really help. It's such a shame

this is really sad and overwhelming to hear. i was just watching "10 things i hate about you" earlier this morning and then i hear that he passes away. i really hope for the best for his family, his daughter and his ex wife. i feel so sorry for his daughter…i wish she could have a father figure to grow up with.

My sister had similar manic symptoms! It wasn't until she comitted suicide that we discovered her body was addicted to anti-depressants. Dr's can put you on these pills but they don't tell you it's hell to get off of them…

I was an alcoholic for 15 years. Nothing my friends or family said mattered. I fell in the street, got a bloody concussion -then I stopped… and it took a year of therapy.
Valium, Xanex, sleeping pills are addicting & too many cloud your rational mind. Poor guy, now his death is part of his legacy.
