The "Reverend" Fred Phelps's Westboro Baptist Church announced plans to protest at the funeral of Heath Ledger.
Why?
The "God Hates Fags" hatemongers will picket the decease Aussie actor's funeral because he is a pervert who promoted homosexuality by appearing as a gay man in Brokeback Mountain.
We wish we could laugh at this stupidity, but it just makes us angry!
Heath may not have been perfect, but he doesn't deserve this.

I am from Topeka, home of the 'lovely' Reverand. I am embarrassed and appaulled at his actions. I hope to God people don't think all of us Kansas folk are like him. I happen to have loved Heath's performance in the movie, and *gasp* I have many Gay & Lesbian friends here.
When this so called Reverand dies, BELIEVE me, I will be picketing his sham of a funeral.

I really hope this is not true. I am appalled. As a Christian, I can truly say that their actions are not what Christians are called to do and I am ashamed they call themselves Christian. I think it is absolutely disgusting that anyone, let alone "a man of God", would think that is was in ANY way appropriate to protest someone's funeral ESPECIALLY someone that he probably doesn't even personally know! From what has been said the funeral will be held in Perth, Australia. I really doubt that they would fly out to picket it, but if they do, they will be in for a rude shock because we in Perth look out for our own. The Ledger family is in mourning and if any of those asswipes decide to try anything on a day that will be devestating for Australia and those from Perth, as he was one of our own, there will be hell to pay.

This group does two things when they picket and it explains why no one has killed them as of yet. They position their innocent children and grandchildren in front of them so that no one can get to them. Then they rely on the local autorities to sheild and protect them. The only reason they are doing all of this is for publicity. It's how they make their money. Phelps lusts for the camera spot and picked what he knew would be a controversial subject to picket over to get the press. He goes home laughing and then gets calls to go on talk shows. He's a freak and a con artist. Chances are he doesn't give a shit about homosexuality but he picked that subject because unfortunately it's the one area most closet cases are afraid to stand up for and support it. If Phelps truely cared about the world they'd be fighting to rid the streets of gangs and drugs but in both those cases he would be shot and killed in the process.
