The "Reverend" Fred Phelps's Westboro Baptist Church announced plans to protest at the funeral of Heath Ledger.
Why?
The "God Hates Fags" hatemongers will picket the decease Aussie actor's funeral because he is a pervert who promoted homosexuality by appearing as a gay man in Brokeback Mountain.
We wish we could laugh at this stupidity, but it just makes us angry!
Heath may not have been perfect, but he doesn't deserve this.

I really hope this is not true!! I dont understand how people can use the name of God to promote hate. That is not right, period. Let him rest in peace. Give his family the respect they deserve at this time. His daughter will grow up and look back on this with great loss and sorrow. She will not remember her father except for what she hears and sees based on what others have said and written about him. His daughter Matilda looks just like him. He seemed to be a great father too.

I live in Kansas, where Phelps live as well, and have experienced the whole family's hatred on a daily basis. Its not just Heath's funeral he has picketed, they also protest at military funerals everyday. They are all horrible horrible people and need to just be taken out!!!

Phelps does this all the time. He protests the funerals of those who have died in combat regularly. He's protected under free speech laws. It's sick, it's disgusting, but it's legal. And don't be so sure he won't fly to Australia. His church has money. I grew up in Topeka, where Phelps and his family is from. It's repugnant and sad.

Fred Phelps also wanted to protest the funerals of the 32 victims at Virginia Tech. As a graduate of VT during this no one dispises that man more than the people he attacks.
I forgot… when Westboro has protested funerals of soldiers here, the Freedom Flyers (an awesome group of bikers who act as human shields) come out and literally line the sidewalk of the church/funeral home where the family will be coming in so they won't have to see the protesters… and then as a community, we pulled together and created a human circle around these disgusting people and sang songs and held signs of support for the family. If this is really going to happen, whether it be in LA or Austrailia, people need to get together and work to protect those closest to Heath from these evil people. They don't need to have to worry about this misguided idiots.
Why don't they protest every single gay person walking on the street if they have sucha problem with gay people. Phelps likes to use the 1st amendment to defend his dispicable actions, but our constitution has no authority in your country, and because he is not a citizen of your country, your constitution does not protect him. This is the only way. Don't let them in your country- make sure your lawmakers are aware of what's happening!

As a Christian myself, these people are absolutely ludicrous and have a completely warped perception of the religion that they claim to follow. Seriously, have they even read the bible at all? God DOES NOT hate gay people; God loves ALL PEOPLE. We were all created in His image and likeness. NO ONE is perfect not me.. not you.. not Fred Phelps.. no one! The beauty of Christianity is that though we are all sinners, Christ took on all of our sin and died for us anyways (Romans 5:8). The bible also says that if you judge others, the same standard will be applied to you (Matthew 7:2). Obviously this 'pastor' needs to get a lesson about the religion he claims to teach, along with learning about basic human values of decency and respect for all people (which Jesus also taught, by the way).
