The "Reverend" Fred Phelps's Westboro Baptist Church announced plans to protest at the funeral of Heath Ledger.
Why?
The "God Hates Fags" hatemongers will picket the decease Aussie actor's funeral because he is a pervert who promoted homosexuality by appearing as a gay man in Brokeback Mountain.
We wish we could laugh at this stupidity, but it just makes us angry!
Heath may not have been perfect, but he doesn't deserve this.

If this story is true, the world is truly a sad place. A man has died, show some respect.
This "Reverend" just wants attention. How dare he try to do something like that at this man's funeral. He will get what's coming to him in the long run.

Just last weekend they were suppose to protest the Marine Corp. at the Beruit Memorial in Camp Lejeune North Carolina. Luckily the local Police Dept. refused to give them a permit to protest. I sure hope they are stopped from protesting Heath's funeral. They are dispicable human beings!

I am soooooo mad right now. I'm from Spain and when I read your post I just couldn't fucking believe it, so I just called the number of the church. This woman picked up and I asked her who gave this church the right to say that God hates fags. She told me that I was stupid, that I was going to go to hell and to pick up the Bible. I told her that if I could I would pick that Bible and hit her in the head as hard as I could.

Unfortunately, I have had a run in with this group before. They came to my high school back in 2004 to protest our Gay Straight Aliance, when this happened I couldn't believe that a group of people could be so closed mind and hateful. Well, now after hearing this news I am extremely angry about this. It is awful to believe that this group would picket such a great person's funeral while millions around the world are grieving including his family. I myself am not a believer of God, but I do believe that this certain sect will all go to Hell for the horrible things they have done to people accross this nation.

Fred Phelps is just a sick old man with nothing better to do. He protests the funerals of those soldiers who have died over in Iraq, and I really wouldn't expect any less of him than to show up to Ledger's funeral. I attend the Univ of Kansas and his church is based just 30 minutes away and he's often seen on campus with his "followers" aka his huge messed up family. I watched a documentary on Phelps and his church and his 3 year old grandsons talked about how they hate and God hates fags. Seriously Fred, get a fucking life.

These people have been doing this for years apparently. I recently watched a movie about them called Falling from Grace… basicly a documentry on the church. I cried because these people are soooo brainwashed it's rediculous. Since then I've been watching their picket sched just to see if they are coming to my town so I can protest their protest.
