Pneumonia has been ruled out as the cause of death of Heath Ledger.
Police discovered what they believe to be illegal drugs at his apartment.
The actor's daughter, Matilda, is on her way back to New York with mom Michelle Williams, who had been filming in Sweden and is said to be "in her own world" right now.
Ledger's ex-girlfriend, Naomi Watts, has cancelled all her media appearances. The Australian actress was at Sundance to promote a new film.
Production on Heath's most recent film, the Terri Gilliam-directed The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, has been shut down.
Warner Bros., who are releasing the next Batman movie with Ledger as the Joker, says, "The studio is stunned and devastated by this tragic news. The entertainment community has lost an enormous talent. Heath was a brilliant actor and an exceptional person. Our hearts go out to his family and friends."
And, model Helena Christensen has revealed to Women's Wear Daily: "I was on my way over to pay him a visit when I found out," she says. "I had just left him a message and heard his voice on the machine. He was such a special and genuine person, so extraordinarily talented because he was so raw and honest with his feelings. He was so full of life, so electric."

I normally do not come to websites like these because well it is trash. But in light of Heath Ledger's death I came to see what you were saying. This is disgusting. How can you post things like there were other drugs near his body besides prescription drugs. At least have the decency to post things that are true, no wonder you have so many lawsuits. Just because you can afford to sit at the Coffee Bean and write about things does not mean you should belittle a man's legacy with trash like this. Shame on you.

Heath's untimely death hasn't yet sunken in for me, despite the news headlines. So unbelievable…*sigh* A Knight's Tale, Monster's Ball, Casanova, Ned Kelly, The Brothers Grimm, Brokeback Mountain…he was special.
I'm really concerned about "fiercely private" celebs now-maybe they're private because they're hiding a major problem..from everyone like Heath and Owen Wilson. Hopefully Heath's passing will teach other celeb pill poppers a thing or two…particulalry Robbie Williams and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

Such a shockingly sad and heartbreaking loss to Hollywood and the rest of the world. I thought he would live long into his life and have a wonderful career. It is a sad thought that we won't ever see him in another film. My heart goes out to his friends, family, Michelle and his daughter. It is particularly hard to see such a young person gone before their time.
This is so sad! I just can't believe that this has happened! He was such an amazing actor I don't think that we had seen enough of this talented man.. :/

The NYPD commissioner has been all over the news stations saying no illegal drugs were found in Heath Ledger's apartment. They found many containers of prescription drugs, but not illegal drugs. I hate when people twist news to seem more shocking.
Wow. You're all dumb. He wasn't on illegal drugs. He's been going through a lot of pain and stress lately with the movies he's been filming. It's not easy, ya know. He's been very sick. And he just went into full cardiac arrest. If he had overdosed on anything, they even said it would be an accidental overdose. Prescribed sleeping pills. SLEEPING PILLS. Too much stress. God, he was so hot and talented. So sad
And for everyone's information, there was ONLY ONE BOTTLE OF MEDICATION. And the pills were not scattered around him. They weren't scattered at all. You all need to get your fucking stories straight.
