That is soo sad! I loved Ledger… one of my favorite actors. He was one of the best actors of our day. Soo tragic. May flights of angels sing him to his rest.

I refuse to believe that he killed himself, I mean, from what I've heard he had been taking sleeping pills because he was unable to sleep at night. So maybe it was accidental, maybe he was so desperate for some rest he did not realize how much he had taken.
RIP Heath, will never forget you and the amazing work that you did!

This is a huge loss for Hollywood, but more for his daughter and his family.
This is why its so important not to mix drugs, regardless if they are prescribed or over the counter. I hope everyone can learn from his horrible mistake.
sad, tragic…all those things. just curious, if you feel any remose about all the horrible things you posted about him when he was alive. his thinning hair, his appearance, any regret Perez? there are times when people deserve your comments, but to say the things you said about his appearance were below the belt. hopefully this will be a wake up moment for you too. you have so much power, why not use it for good occasionally? maybe not be so superficial. maybe get facts (is Castro still dead?)

I'm I missing something. He was JUST an actor right. Did a few films, right? Played a gay in broak (bare) back mountain, which was a boring movie. It only got awards because its Hollywood, which is full of gays, jews and liberals. Nothing wrong with gays, jews and liberals, but GIVE ME A BREAK. We're still losing over 30 soldiers a month, now pushing 4,000 total, plus 90,000 civilians. Cry for them. He took too many pills. Sad yes but get a grip. RIP.

Heath didn't kill himself, as many of you stupidly assume or by listening to media clowns.
He was a complete insomniac. He got to the point where he was so overtired, he was afraid to sleep.
As we all know, lack of sleep makes your immune system shut down, and he then got pneumonia. They should have hospitalized him and monitored him to make sure he slept. But he tried to sleep and make himself better by taking sleeping pills & make sure he rested.
His body was so sleep deprived, alas it was too much for his heart to take.
RIP my dear Heath.
KC - I know wot u mean - I dont understand why this has affected me so much. When u look at him, its like he is looking into your very soul. He was surely beautiful. i have been in love withheath since his early days on aussie soaps and own all dvds hes in i am absolutley gutted and my heart aches for his family in WA and especially wee little Matilda but as hes been quoted saying he will live on in herjust look at francis bean and heavenly hiirani you see their dads in them all day long as for people who want to label him a junkie you need to get your facts straight so what if he was? He kept to himself was never falling in and out clubs and was a brilliant actor.R.I.P Heath
I am so sad. It was a great actor that has touched me deeply with his Brokeback Mountain performance. RIP Heath.

Glad he will be recognized as a great talent, he is a legend now. I know he would choose watching his little girl growing up than being a legend. However, he got the respect he deserves.
That is how it works. You are a talent and you have craft, people respect you. People feel sad for the world lost a talent.
If Britney or Paris died, it would be jumping cheer for everybody. No one would feel sad. It would be like "it's about time, what took you so long, God?" Some people are just waste of space like Britney. The world is a better place without her.
Damn is all I can say. Heath was a rising star about to take over in his own right. He truly lost a talented artist and a wonderful father. He will be trully missed. However, the news about the drug use needs to stop. Let him rest in peace and dignity. Thanks.

The Australian newspaper is reporting that Heath's father, Kim, will be attending an event in Los Angeles at the end of the week with Aussie model Gemma Ward, the woman last romantically linked to Heath. It's believed the event will be a memorial service for the star. Gemma's mother, Claire, told the newspaper that her daughter is currently in New York.
Meanwhile, the 20-year-old's sister, Sophie (who's also a model), told the West Australian newspaper that Heath had sworn off alcohol at Christmastime amid a bout of anxiety over being unable to see his daughter Matilda, 2.
Sophie says that Heath was distressed over his split with Michelle Williams and being away from Matilda. He was "quite upset because he couldn't see his daughter as much as he'd like to," she said. "He was traveling so much and I think he was just frustrated with it all."

I feel the exact same way. It's strange.
After seeing him in that Joker makeup for the Batman movie it sort of reminds me of when Brandon Lee died making The Crow. Different kind of situation I know but his death has really hit me in a way I can't explain.

I watched Brokeback Mountain tonight, I did this a lot of times since 2005. His performance is unforgetable . He stands alone. Artists like him are second to none. Good night, Heath.
