Were John Travolta and Heath Ledger even friends???
While most people who have worked with him have released brief statements, the Pulp Fiction star has gone on and on and on about the deceased Aussie actor. And they were never even in a movie together!
Travolta "adored" Ledger and is "devastated" by his death.

Here is Johnny boy's super creepy interview with Australia's Woman's Day:
WD: Did you know Heath? How has his death affected you?
JT: I did know Heath and I adored him. I am pretty devastated over this. He was my favourite actor and my favourite talent. It's like losing James Dean. I would give back all my awards and all my nominations just to have him back — I think he is a real loss as a persona and as a talent. And this whole evening is very hard for me. We are celebrating Australia week in the USA — and it's killing me. You know that he's both of us. He's Australian and from the United States, and he means a whole lot. It's bad situation.
WD: How did you meet him?
JT: I wanted to meet him because I was very impressed with him from the very beginning. His agent introduced me to him at a party, and I just fell — I used every accolade. Actors need other actors to be inspired by, and he was "my" actor.
WD: How did he respond?
JT: I forget that anyone younger than me grew up with me. He was beautiful in his reaction. I was an idol of his — my reacting that way to his work really blew him away, but he was very modest and almost bashful about the compliment — and didn't want to make a big deal about himself. But he was a big deal.
WD: Did you know of any troubles he may have been experiencing?
JT: As far as I knew he was on top of the world. He had everything going for him and was very serious about his craft, and was looking forward to the best work thrown his way. I know recently there was a separation [between him and Michelle Williams], but the thing is when you have the depth of character and feeling as Heath did — it's a double-edged sword. You are also feeling those things in life. Your sensitivities and perceptions are almost an assault on you. The most beautiful thing you can use in your craft is also the very thing that can make life harsher for you. I would be presumptuous to assume any reasons, it would be inappropriate. My feeling on Heath is I don't want to lose him at any age, 28 or 88, like Marlon Brando. I didn't like his passing, he was special to me, and he was a friend. At any age you don't want to lose someone like that — he was a valuable guy. I am truly sorry and my heart goes out to everyone who knew him and loved him, and actually, my heart goes out to me, I really don't like it. I don't like it… [trails off]
WD: Do you feel for young people in show business now?
JT: I was in a different era, I really don't know. My daughter is starting out in the business and she will be protected by me, and I admire anyone who holds it together nowadays. There are a lot of outside pressures, and then you add the complications of being a superstar — that talent, that depth, and who knows? We would have to be inside that person's head.
WD: What was his most inspirational movie for you?
JT: Well, the first movie I saw him in was The Patriot, but then with Brokeback — I don't think anyone will ever beat that performance, I don't know if it's possible.

Gosh Perez… way to put a negative spin on something that is truly sincere and heartfelt. Not all feelings can be quantified or qualified by friendship or romantic love (perhaps in your myopic, self-loathing little heart), but this is what normal human beings like to call ADMIRATION. When you admire only fame and advertising dollars (as you DO), I am sure this kind of admiration for one's craft seems foreign and unbelievable. You have no "craft" - your only wish is to be famous and make money. How sad for you, you pathetic man.

Fans of heath ledger who have never met him were just as devistated by his sudden death, so John travoltas comments were nothing but just and fair and should not be critisized

I was by no stretch of the imagination even remotely close with Heath Ledger but I too was devastated to hear of his untimely death. To say that Travolta shouldn't feel an emotion that, if anything, makes him human is incredibly insensitive. I’m disappointed.

Hmm. John T does seem to be a bit of an oddball- but all those hollywood folks are, for the most part. Having met Heath only once while he was filming in Chicago- I can see why people would be moved to speak about him like how good ole John T did. Heath was magnetic, kind, quite unassuming (for being an actor filming a HUGE movie). He was the real deal folks. He was a person. And now he's died way too young and his loved ones are having the hardest days of their lives. It's easy to slough him off as "just another sad stereotype of what Hollywood does to people," but I don't think it's applicable in this case. It's hard to wrap our minds around the death of someone so young, famous or not. Cheers to you Perez for keeping this site up for people to use as a forum for their grief- in whatever way it comes out. PS. Is there a way we can stop the creepy Kansas church from picketing Heath's funeral?

O.K. I was wavering for awhile, but this was the clincher; this post was just in-human. What a way to make a shitty situation even shittier. To me this needless, below-the-belt crap represents everything in us that is lousy.. Visiting your site now just makes me feel like an asshole for looking at it. So, see ya Perez. Perez - has it actually occurred to you that just because they didn't co star in a movie together that they may have actually been close friends? I think it is a really cheap and ugly for you to try and milk heath's death like that, and to belittle the deceased actors friendships. You pushed it too far this time. SHAME!
THE ONLY thing i think is sad is that somebody that had soo much .."on top of the world " if he took his own life OR was careless and O.D. !!
