Wino In Rehab For Real This Time!

Filed under: Anglophilia > Amy Winehouse

snn2205e_422749a__opt12.jpg

Thank, God!

It's official.

Amy Winehouse has finally checked in to rehab, her record label announced on Thursday.

"Amy decided to enter the facility today after talks with her record label, management, family and doctors," Universal Music Group said in a statement. "She has come to understand that she requires specialist treatment to continue her ongoing recovery from drug addiction. Amy is the most talented and important musical artist of her generation and has made huge strides on her road to recovery. Universal Music Group wants nothing more than to see her take the time she needs to come back to full health and fulfil her incredible potential with the label. The label has always had the best interests of Amy at heart and has been guided by her family and doctors in the last few months as to the best direction to take. All concerned feel that Amy must put her health before all considerations and will be by her side whenever and wherever they are needed."

We sincerely hope our friend gets the help she desperately needs.

Amy is far too talented and special - as an artist and a person - to die young or waste her life on drugs!

she's really not that talented. i feel as if people who are praising her blindly are just making it up. i wouldn't say she's a gift to contemporary music.

Don't get too happy too soon, she'll be back to her old ways real soon. Why does it take a meeting with her record company to get her into rehab? They threatened her ass and she knows that if the money stopped, she would be able to high off her ass every night unless she started selling that dried up tutu on the streets. and we know that wouldn't sell.

I'm so proud of Amy. I really hope, that this time she'll stay there and sort herself out. I love her to death and I would die if anything bad happend to her. Like Perez said: "Amy is far too talented and special - as an artist and a person - to die young or waste her life on drugs!". She needs to realize that and stop throwing her precious life away.

THIS SITE IS PEREZHILTON.COM and in case you haven't heard, per the judge who sided with him in the "Lohan friend" case… he can pretty much say what he wants. And you can always NOT visit this site.

Again- here are all the people making negative comments about someone without thinking of what they would feel like if the same was said about them.
Everybody is loved and cared about by someone. If you dont' care about Winehouse or her music…just don't comment. But PLEASE for those of us who do, can we comment without your negative idiotic banter?

    Re: joe

Listen to her albums, read her lyrics. Nobody comes close for at least 3 decades.
She truly is one of the best jazz singers ever.
Don't believe me: there's plenty more rock stars, record execs, other singers, on and on that will back me up.
But I really don't expect to meet people with much fucking sense on this site.
The average age here is probably 15.

  34. jackie juicehead says – reply to this

Estimated length of her stay unless she's placed in a locked unit: 15 minutes from the time you read this. She's only a hollow voice - there is no there there.

    135

Re: jimbo – Amen to that, Jimbo, I second that emotion. Talent is a dime a dozen; genius, priceless. She's in the former category, still present in our lives only because of a label's hyperbolizing, still riding the wave of one catchy tune which has long-since gone badly ironic, considering its topic, and its singer.

    141

Wowie wowie, ain't she brave - Scotland Yard gets involved plus her label pressures her in order to protect their investment, and suddenly it's all "Hooray Amy, congrats." This ain't something she's doing on her own, for her own good, and thus it's most probably another doomed effort. I hope I'm wrong, but face facts. She's h-o-l-l-o-w, s-h-a-l-l-o-w, and likes to w-a-l-l-o-w in her own private I-d-a-h-o.

  42. Just me says – reply to this

This post is coming from a well trained classical musician.
I have listened very closely to Amy Winehouse's CD's and I listen with a critical ear. She can do things, subtle things with her voice which I have not heard other than Sarah Vaughan and the late great Billie Holiday do. Amy is a well trained jazz singer from a family of jazz musicians. Is she as diva? Yes, in that she doesn't care what people thnk of her. Does she have a drug problem? Most certainly. But try, if you can, to separate the singer from her personal demons. Give a listen to her music. And try to listen with an open mind. You may be pleasantly surprised!

I have a sister that has a problem with alcohol & pills, for the past 4 years (that we've known about it) she got a divorce after being married for 33 yrs. We never realized the problem, but her ex-husband did. We put her in rehab only the find she was still tooooooooooo drunk to particiate. We took her home & then tried to put her back, but then insurance wouldnt pay!!!!!!!!!!!!! To this day it is still a day to day effort to help her. If we had the money to keep her somewhere maybe she would stand a chance. So why are so many people worried about people like Brittany, who's has more money than she knows what to do with, but won't seek help????????????? If I had the money, my sister would be in rehab NO QUESTIONS ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where are her family & friends. They have a "say" in what happens to her, even if it takes legal action………..so if they really love her they will do whatever it takes to help her, unlike other who dont have the money to do what needs to be done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I had the money, my sister would be in treatment for as looooooooooooooooong as necessary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No matter how mad she might get at me, it would be worth it for her to be ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!
