Heath Ledger's family will arrive in New York City on Friday from Australia.
Out of respect for their privacy, we won't name the funeral home the service will take place in. It'd be nice if the media left his family alone on that day, but we don't think that will happen.
Ledger's ex, Michelle Williams, and daughter, Matilda, arrived at their Brooklyn home on Wednesday. They were greeted by hordes of paparazzi. So wrong.
We didn't use those pics. Nor did we use the pics of Ledger's body being taken out of his apartment.
And we won't use pics from outside the funeral parlor.
Hopefully others will follow suit.

I was watching Entertainment Tonight las night and was completed disgusted with them! They must have played the footage of Heath in the body bag every 2 minutes. How sad that they would resort to such a low.

This is the first time I have ever posted on this site after years of reading it at least twice a day. I think it is commendable that you are giving the family privacy. I'm sure this will get buried in a string of insults, but please know that some Perez readers respect this decision and it increases my loyalty to site to know that I'm supporting someone who has some standards.

First of all it is one thing to take pictures of celebrities when they are partying or at the park or whatever because that is a part of the job and everyone knows it. Its another thing to disrespect the dead and exploit someones hard times especially when there are children involved. Second I admire the sence to know when too much is too much. I'm not digging this vibe that comes from the entertainment/blogging media. Match the corresponding emotion to the corresponding celeb. Basically PRIVACY only matters when it applies to the celebrity you personally respect and to hell with anybody else. If this had been a celebrity that nobody cared about (not necessarily Britney either because the girl begs for the negative attention), the jokes and the privacy invasion would be totally acceptable.
It's such a hypocrisy. I don't necessarily want to see pictures of grieving people or funeral photos. Some people do. People are fascinated with this stuff and it's human nature.
Heath's family deserves the same amount of respect as anybody but I totally resent the idea that any celebrity deserves a special blog about it. Gimme a break. These people know the score.
