Heath Ledger's family will arrive in New York City on Friday from Australia.
Out of respect for their privacy, we won't name the funeral home the service will take place in. It'd be nice if the media left his family alone on that day, but we don't think that will happen.
Ledger's ex, Michelle Williams, and daughter, Matilda, arrived at their Brooklyn home on Wednesday. They were greeted by hordes of paparazzi. So wrong.
We didn't use those pics. Nor did we use the pics of Ledger's body being taken out of his apartment.
And we won't use pics from outside the funeral parlor.
Hopefully others will follow suit.

I love this site, but I never thought of it as refreshing. This time, though, there is no other word for it.
Bodies being wheeled out of apartments and grieving widows do not equal entertainment. It's life, and it's real, and it hurts. I wish people could put it into perspective and give a little respect.

What you are doing is the right thing!!! You are one of the only bloggers letting him rest in peace and letting his family mourn privately. I went by where the flowers are being laid yesterday and it was a zoo of tv crews. Made me sad to see that they won't let his fans mourn in peace, let alone Michelle and his daughter, Matilda. He was a super wonderful guy, and you are doing the best thing by not feeding into all the press. thanks! its nice to know someone in the celebrity world is saying let them alone!

I completely agree. I think his family should have time without the media. They are clearly going through a very hard time, the media will only make things worse. I understand its their job to cover whats new. But I think ppl would be satisfied with details on what happened, and how his family is doing. We do not need pics of the funeral, or the funeral home, of his family and friends on their way to and from the funeral. We repsected him as an amazing actor, now lets respect his family. They clearly dont want the media there, and Im sure Heath Ledger wouldn't have wanted the media their eaither. We will be told by his friends and family what is necissary to know.

Perez, thank you for not posting those pics. Like many, I was shocked and trying to find anything at all about why this would happen, and instead found the most offensive vids and pics of Heath and his loved ones. If nothing else, they should be allowed to grieve together in absolute peace.

I applaude you Perez for not using the pics that I have seen elsewhere over the last few days. The obsession with celebrity must stop at bodies being wheeled away. There should be no desire from the public to see these types of pics. I hope the media can allow those close to Heath Ledger to lay the actor to rest in peace as well as give them privacy during their entire grieveing process. Afterall who the hell are we to intrude on these people during such a difficult time.

I was really upset to see the footage of his bodybag leaving his apt. on all of the news channels repeated over and over. We can read or hear about the reports, but the family should be left alone to grieve without all of the media attention and the paps camping out. Good for you, Perez! Lets hope others follow suit and post pics of the gorgeous man as we want to remember him!!

Death of anyone doesn't deserve to be made a mockery of. All of these people deserve to mourn in peace. Their loved one didn't just run away for a weekend, he's gone forever. People need to remember this. No one would want their pictures plastered all over the news after sleepless nights and fits of tears. For once, I'm proud of you for deciding to respect these people.
