Heath Ledger's family will arrive in New York City on Friday from Australia.
Out of respect for their privacy, we won't name the funeral home the service will take place in. It'd be nice if the media left his family alone on that day, but we don't think that will happen.
Ledger's ex, Michelle Williams, and daughter, Matilda, arrived at their Brooklyn home on Wednesday. They were greeted by hordes of paparazzi. So wrong.
We didn't use those pics. Nor did we use the pics of Ledger's body being taken out of his apartment.
And we won't use pics from outside the funeral parlor.
Hopefully others will follow suit.

For those saying "you post pics of others" etc….. death is not the same as photos of a crazy chic going to the hospital due to her own actions. We DO NOT know yet what happened. He could have had a simple reaction to 2 medications he NEEDED for all we know. Perez I applaud you for not using those photos.

I know a lot of people are asking why you post other things and not this. I hope that if Britney Spears dies, you will give the same respect as you have for Heath Ledger. Perez, I applaud you for not showing those images, because they are sickening and sad, but you are such a hypocrite, or just very discriminatory. When Anna Nicole Smith died, I don't remember you having any problems with splattering all kinds of pictures and information about the death all over your site, including pictures that were originally thought to be her passed out or dead on the hotel floor. And you have no problem advertising websites that are taking bets as to when Britney Spears will die and making fun of her poor kids, or posting videos of Amy Winehouse, who is obviously in dire need of help, doing drugs.
I don't care if Heath Ledger was one of your favorite actors, or if you just really loved him for playing a gay man (don't get me wrong, I loved Brokeback), or what the reason is, but it is ridiculously unprofessional to suddenly become Mr. Morality when Heath dies, while in the past you were, and now continue to be extremely heartless and rude when it comes to other celebrities. They're all people, and I don't see why you have put Heath's death above someone like Anna Nicole's. Just because Anna was quite the tabloid target and made into somewhat of a joke doesn't make her life and death worth any less than Heath's.
So while I applaud your efforts, please think about things like this and maybe try to extend this amount of respect towards other celebrities you blog about.

I 100% think that you have made the right choice. I have been sick to think of Heath's family mourning the loss of someone more special to them than we can even begin to imagine and having to deal with the disgusting pictures on t.v. Stations are running the imagines of them bringing his body out of his home over and over again and I have never seen anything so disrespectful. Yes, he was a movie star but he was also a human being with a family and a daughter. He chose to live a life where his every move was picked apart but his family does not deserve to be bothered this way.

I saw Michelle's mom sobbing on a video today and the media just followed her and kept hounding her. So sad. RIP Heath–you'll DEFINITELY be missed.

It is like rubbing salt in the wounds of his already destroyed family. I hope people leave his family alone during the funeral and I hope those sick people from the church in Kentucky leave them be.
