perez you are a major hypocrite on this one. you digusted me with your early and often postings on heath. your speculations on drugs and your apparent thirst and hunger for there to be dirt on his death. how can you say you agree with star when you are fueling the fire…….ditto for your coverage on britney. your site is good in so many ways but i hate when you obsess on the negative aspects..
Well, I am not a Star Jones fan, but she hit it right on the mark! Have all of America lost our sense of compassion for our fellow man, whether they are famous or not! Someone has just lost their son in a tragic death. I now understand why the Europeans have the opinion of us that they do. We have earned every bit of our horrific reputation. I am ashamed to claim I am American when it comes to the behavior like this!

Yeah, I gotta admit - I've never been a Star Jones fan, if anything I was probably more in the Anti-Star Jones camp, if only because of how fake and self-absorbed she tended to come across in interviews and various comments she's made over the years on 'The View'. But, she hit the nail on the head of this whole Heath Ledger Death Debaucle…like so many other untimely, unforseen celebrity passings this whole thing has turned into a Media Circus with so many false reportings regarding his demise (i.e. where his body was found in the room, whose apartment it was, how many drugs were found in the room, whether it was a suicide or accidental, etc, etc) and wild theories as to what he died from are running rampant with no signs of subsiding anytime soon.
Star is so right in saying that people in the media should just shut up until they have concrete, irrefutable evidence pertaining to his cause of death - and stop with the crazy speculations…it's an insult to his memory and to his grieving loved ones. We should be remembering all that he contributed to the history of cinema with his talented acting skills, not gossiping over how many prescription drugs he was on or who he was shagging in the months, weeks and days before he passed away.
It really is a stupid, sickening mess when you really stop to think about it.

I think what she wrote was spot on.
I saw news reports with footage of Heath being taken out of his apartment and it kinda made me feel sick. All the poeple with cameras and video cameras, its kinda morbid. I have a young child myself and I cant even begin to imagine (nor do I want to) what it must be like for Michelle to have to tell her daughter that her dad is gone, and all the press must make that a million times harder.
I also say good for you Perez for not posting any pics of Heath being taken out of his home.
she really did get it all dead-on. even though she does add a bit more fuel to the fire in all this controversy, it was the kind of fuel that's used to bring the fire down. so what i'm saying is that by her saying that stuff she's trying to get people to back off his family instead of make this situation harder on them than it has to be. good going star.
I agree with everything Star Jones wrote. Who wants to see the body bag being removed? The media has crossed the line, it's so grotesque to air footage like that. I commend Perez for recognizing that pictures and footage of the body bag and the grieving family are indecent and reprehensible.

The point that Star Jones was trying make was that the media should stop all the speculation and rumors about Heath Ledger and his death. If Perez agrees so much, why does he continue to post about topics such as Mary Kate Olsen dating Heath Ledger and about his drug use.

Not a big fan of hers but she is right, the media should not be putting things out there that are not fact, how many times have they ended up taking back what was said. How do you say "daddy's in heaven" when a 2 year old hasn't a clue what that means. All I do know is that it's going to take alot of strength to muster up the words " daddy's not coming home". i think that this mans death was an accident from reading his interviews i think that he was an axcious man threw his work and personal life and when he poped sleeping pills it wasent enough for that nite so he kept on.no on1 knows there limit no1 knows there d date unfortunatly! every1 on this page and around the world has suffered loss.its heartbeaking .my heart goes out to his family and friends.i know he will rest in peace hopefully where we all go in the after life is somewhere were not judged r where religion sex or race is an issue ,but somewhere all are loved ones r taken from us and keeped safe and may 1 day very far from now we will join them. People want to be updated on the Heath situation. It is actually part of the grieving process and getting closure. Letting the public who seem to be very affected by his sudden death, know what's going on and following the news of his death up with news of his funeral etc. actually helps and you are asking for it to be stopped.

How many times you have you inferred that his death was an overdose of sleeping pills? How many interviews did you look up to show how he had been on drugs during his life? I so agree with Star. I know I shouldn't, but I love celebrity gossip. I loved it when it was just "What are they Wearing" and who is the worst dressed. I don't love it enough to need to have people stalked outside their home. I don't care if the Heath was on drugs and died of an accident or on purpose - he is dead and his family is mourning. I am happy Perez is asking the media to leave him alone but the press (especially you Perez) needs to leave Brittany alone also. The press won't be happy until she is dead. She is just a media whore. I am a West Australian that lives quite near his old high school, Guildford Grammar in Perth,West Australia. Heath is our boy, so leave him alone ! He might have had a dark side, but who doesnt? He certainly did not subscribe to the hollywood hype, he kept his knickers on, he kept custody of his kid, he kept his relationship with the mother of his child, his own family, his old school friends from Perth. He did not forget his roots.
If you are so superficial that you only concentrate on the media hype and don't try to see the man beneath the media, then you need, as we Australians say, to take a long sober look at yourself !

ACTUALLY READ IT….buuut i think that celebrities have it different. Not only do they have friends and family that love them…but they have FANS! and some fans can be waaay in love with these celebs…you know posters from floor to ceiling, watching every performance they've ever made, making sure to record it, buying their stuff, supporting them, waiting over night on a sidewalk just to get the chance to see them, or get an autograph! and i think when something tragic like this happens to a celeb, their fans also should have a chance to know whats going on. They loved them too! They were a part of their lives, maybe even more than that celebs friends and family. I remember watching movies over and over and over again, everyday…making that actor a part of my daily life, so when something tragic like this happens, i DO think that the family and friends should be respected, the paps are CRAZY THESE DAYS! but on the other hand i feel like they owe it to the fans to let them know whats going on…they miss him too!!!
Perez, you posted a video and claimed Heath was visibly using when he was speaking clearly and articulate and all he was doing was fidgeting.
