It's one of the rare times we've seen her vulnerable, sincere and human.

Im gonna TRY to make this short and sweet….
I am VERY far from where I would like to be in my career, I'm from a small town in the smallest state, I've started working as a teen model and lived in every city and beat the streets in every town, taking every audition, I modeled, I did pageants I took every meeting I could, I've been rejected 1000 times and I never gave up…I took every one liner, bit part I could, I didn't have my daddy's name or some hollywood connection, I worked my ass off, and no I may not be in the A list, but I have drive and conviction and ambition… and I wont ever stop trying to be involved in projects that I enjoy and get the opportunity's that allow me to show what it is I strive to do…
I grew up watching musicals with talents such as Ann Miller and Fred Astaire and that is the sole reason I moved across the country to this city with the dream to be a part of this industry.
with that said,
never in all my life, if I thought for one second with all that I have done, (and I am actually proud of what I have accomplished), did I ever think having a confrontation with a whore in a club or the complete heartbreaking ups and downs of my marriage which sadly have to play out in front on the public, would take center stage from what it is I actually LOVE doing…
it makes me fucking sick and sad….. that the reality is having a sex tape and letting men piss on you, getting dui's , flashing your crotch and going to jail is apparently today, the image young men and woman strive for to get their foot in the door… thats not talent and it sure doesn't deserve fame. I mean thats the message i see everyday in my TV, in my papers, on my radios…
i dont want to be known for any of this!! ill keep my small time reality show and my dignity and keep it moving! my marriage is just not up for entertainment anymore.
and perez hilton…go fuck yourself. i guess making fun of everyone in times of trouble shows exaclty the caliber of your class. but look who you named yourself after. maybe i just dont get the "jokes". but its a form of entertainment ill pass on.

Yes, Shanna. I don't know if you'll read these comments,but if you do: I'm sending you GOOD VIBES right now. There was dignity in that message and that demands respect. For starters, I'm from the same state as Shanna and am quite familiar with the town she grew up in. Her portrayal of it as "a small town in the smallest state" is deceiving. Barrington is indeed small, and of course RI is the smallest state, but the town is an affluent one, so don't pity her too much. (Apologies to Barrington and RI for reiterating their association with this classless person.)

That would be Bristol, RI. Coming from these small towns, with stars in our eyes, believing that some day people are going to know our names…I'll take my small town over that any day. Shannon, you should really take a deep breath, call your parents, fly home, take a break. Your name has become associated with the lowest of the lowly. And why on earth would you prefer that, and where you live currently, to living back home in one of the prettiest and most prestigious areas? Reality check, your stardom has probably already hit it's peak, and it will never get better than what you've got right now. The only reason you ARE "famous" is for all the crap you've listed, certainly not for any major breakthrough or accomplishment in Hollywood.

I generally enjoy most of the lighthearted comments from team Perez - but yesterday Perez, you actually commented on how right Star Jones was about the need for respect. Here's another example of a seemingly smart and LITERATE person giving a truly heartfelt testimonial to decency, empathy, following one's dreams without selling out to the farce which has become Hollywood. No, there are times when it's not entertaining anymore - it's downright cruel. Same applies to the "bloody feeding frenzy" directed at Britney.
Good for her. I'm actually impressed with Shanna, and I have developed much more respect for her. She's one of the two Miss America winners that I actually remember (the other is Vanessa Williams).

For those of you being critical of her from being from Barrington–Barrington is just like any other town….there are rich, there are middle class and there are poor. I know some people who grew up with her and she was from a middle class, working family. Not poor, not rich. She was (and appears to be still) very down to earth–she just got famous. You can't possibly think you know someone just because you have some info on the town she grew up in.
I saw Shanna at Winstons the other night with her assistant. Both making drunk asses out of themselves and starting shit with the DJ who used to be her assistants boyfriend. The whole night she was glaring at me and my friends for hanging out at the DJ booth who, might I add, is our friend too. Shanna loves to be the center of attention and thought she ruled the bar with her little troll looking assistant. Shanna knew every name of the bartender there. Where was her kids? Why does she have to be so god damn obnoxious when she goes out?!?? She didn't seem too upset about her failing marriage. She was talking to guys all night and being extra flirtatious. Even after the bar closing, Shanna was outside screaming and yelling making more of an ass out of herself. Come on girly, grow up.

When you are famous, you are out there for everyone (who isn't famous) to comment on. I haven't noticed the comments making much of a difference- Britney isn't sober, Rumer hasn't quit showing her homely face, Mary Kate still exists on coffee and cigs, Travolta still wears a rug, and Cruise is still crazy. So commenting on sites about people is just an anonymous way to be a little observant and maybe a little mean? Why does she care? If she wants anonymity, and no one to poke at her a little, she should go be a waitress or something. Once you put yourself in the public domain, a bunch of people who SHOULD be working or reading a book instead are going to comment on you!
