Thanks for posting this….it was extremely helpful to see what certain candidates actually said in relation to specific issues. I was surprised to see that the candidate I was leaning towards came up second and someone that I hadn't considered came up first. I definitely have to rethink my choices before the primary.

It's a shame that Kucinich is out. My vote goes to Mike Gravel now until the media marginalizes him as well (NBC is owned by big-time polluter General Electric).

It's the primaries people. Vote with your conscience.

80% Obama, 80% Hillary, 80% Edwards…too bad I can't vote in the Democratic Primary. There is a good chance that I lean toward all 3 of the candidates.

Okay I'm confused. Several people have expressed support for Clinton because she supports gay rights. However, she has gone on record as being AGAINST gay marriage. Sure, she'll allow civil unions, but like Edwards and Obama, she trots out her religion to justify her homophobia. In contrast, MIKE GRAVEL is fully supportive of gay marriage. Gravel takes similar stances as Clinton and Edwards on the major issues, but he actually supports gay rights. This from a man in his 70s! I say GO GRAVEL! If you truly support gay rights, you'll agree! GRAVEL FOR PRESIDENT!!!

VOTE FOR RON PAUL!!! he wants to take away the federal reserve, bring back our troops, and have less big government!!! on his site is so wisley states:

“The Constitution was written to restrain the government, never to restrain the people.”

if u all learned in school, our fathers came to this new land to get away from the government and the king and out constitution was meant to protect the people AGAINST the government… and the way it is now, our government is completley going against our constitution, so what is there now to restrain them from abusing their power? people like Ron Paul.

Re: Elizabeth – i don't think it's homophobic. i am completely for equality, but the word "marriage" is a Biblical term describing a covenant between a man, a woman, and God, blessed by a clergyman. by definition, 2 men or 2 women could not enter into that covenant. but as long as all rights afforded a "married" couple by the federal, state, and local governments are also afforded to a "civilly joined" couple, what's the problem? none of you want God or religion in our government, anyway, so why the big protest? the word "marriage" is a RELIGIOUS, BIBLICAL term…so why do you want to associate with it anyway?! i'm definately not a homophobe, but i think homosexuality is morally wrong. but i have said it before, i'll say it again, it is not the goverment's place to legislate morality; therefore a homosexual couple should be allowed to have a union recognized by the government. but i stand firm that a MARRIAGE is between a man, a woman, and God and it has nothing to do with government.

WTF? I got Mike Gravel at 78%. Who the heck is that? And why isn't my perfect candidate well known? Damn!! Also, Edwards and Clinton both came in at 71%. So - that really did help my decisions. Thanks Perez!!!!

Re: Hal R Hosfeld – Wow you sound a little crazy I think it's safe to say old white men have been running this coutry for a long time and look at the state it's in, I think America needs and is ready for change and you should embrace it instead of being threatened by it, I'll bet you will eat those words when either Hilary or Obama gets elected, and gets our country out of this mess old rich white men have gotten us in.

And STFU already about GAY FUCKING MARRIAGE. There are a fuckload more important issues out there….like, oh, I don't know, the Islamification of Europe and Africa….the illegal alien invasion…..making tax cuts permanent for EVERYONE….etc etc etc….

Gay people are so single-minded. It's annoying as hell.

its amazing how many people buy into the bitter Republican propaganda on the Clintons….the republicans were no match for Bill when he was in office and they are terrified that they may have his tougher half to deal with…..Obama is NO threat to them and even if by some miracle he wins the presidency they Would WALK ALL OVER HIM….Obama is a great accomplished man but he is not ready for Washington !

If I was an intelligent voter who considers the issues and how each candidate matches with my views, I would vote Edwards or Clinton.

If I was an idiotic voter who doesn't care about the issues, but likes pretty words and empty promises, I would run to Obama in a second.

Luckily, I'm a smart voter who cares about the issues, doesn't buy into hollow words, AND doesn't give a crap about personal drama unless it screws with their ability to do the job. I'm a rare voter indeed.

Re: jen – sweetpea, marriage existed well before Christ. The ancient Greeks married. The ancient Babylonians married. The first civilizations had some concept of marriage. Christians only forced the word to be about God, but it existed well before they bothered to have one diety.

Re: lolk – and the old testament existed long before Christ walked the earth, too. the written version dates back to at least the 12th century BC, and long before that, it was passed down through oral tradition. But God existed first. and the very first man and the very first woman (adam and eve) were created for each other, blessed by God, and told to be fruitful. no matter how many people in the future might use the term "marriage" for anything other than that, it will not change the true meaning of the word. marriages throughout history, in any culture or religion, have always been between a man and a woman. same-sex unions by any name have only come into existence in about the last 10 years and are only recognized by a handful of countries. a further point, throughout most of history, the government leaders and religious leaders were one in the same. so marriages throughout history were, in fact, religious acts. and one last thing, i never said marriage was a "Christian" institution, i said it was Biblical and religious. Christianity is not the only religion which recognizes the Word of God and rejects homosexuality as immoral. the bottom line is, however, preserving the sanctity of marriage has nothing to do with homophobia, it has everything to do with obeying God. and still, no one has explained to me why, all things being equal otherwise, it matters that a same-sex union is called a civil union and not marriage?
