This explosive article in the Sunday Mail claims that Michelle Williams broke up with Heath Ledger because of his drug abuse.
A member of the actor's "inner circle" claims that Heath was using heroin and cocaine, in addition to pills, and that his drug problem spiraled out of control recently because he thought his ex, Michelle, was gonna request full custody of their daughter, Matilda.
The article also offers up a theory on what led to Ledger's death.
According to his pal, "He was not the type to have killed himself. The way I hear it, he went out the night before, he was doing cocaine, he wasn't able to sleep, and the investigators think he woke up, didn't remember taking sleeping pills and then took what accidentally was an overdose."
We don't know what to make of it all.
Thankfully, the toxicology results will be in within the next few weeks and that should bring some closure to all.

My 28 year old cousin died and it was not drugs. His heart just stopped. Its very sad but it does happen. May the both rest in peace.

The article lost cred for me when the person started talking about how hot Heath was and how not hate Michelle was. They were just a jealous poser and all the losers come out of the woodwork with stories after he's dead, not when he's alive so he can respond and say they're full of it.

Obviosdly I don't know but I read online that a insider said the toxicology was so low that Ledger may have died of natural causes. He was young; the site said it still may have happen as a result of natural causes.

I just read a AOL news article that says there was no illegal drugs in his system and the levels of the prescribed drugs were within normal limits. And they are saying that he could have possibly died of "natural causes" even at 28. That he cold have had a "heart attack" of some kind. I guess it just goes to show you that you can't trust anything you read in print.. I think how he dies is really a mute point. The fact is, he IS dead and he isn't coming back. All that those who loved him can do is go on with their lives and hope that someday we will all be together again. In the mean time, live YOUR life as best you can, be the best you can and give back to the world what you can because it will come back to you tenfold.

This "Ms. White" is clearly the scum of society, along with Mary Kate, Naomi Campbell, and any other druggie pal that Heath had. Michelle was one of the best things that happened to him. She seems like a really nice and grounded woman - never in the tabloids like so many others. She had an Oscar nomination for her role in Brokeback Mountain as well. She is a very serious and talented young actress. She sounds like a good mother, too. One can't blame her for wanting to keep her child safe from all that mess. It's so unfortunate because they could have built a good life together as a family. We all have our breakng points, and Michelle obviously put up with a lot of crap for a long time before she let go. She should not feel guilty about her decision to move on with her life and want the best for her daughter. Heath got caught up with the wrong crowd. So sad.

I agree. I never liked Michelle because she seemed kind of bitchy. But judging from what we are hearing, she must have been going through a lot. She appeared much happier after the split, whereas Heath was a mess. He looked so much healthier when he was with Michelle. She was the best thing that could have happened to him and he threw it all away. I have no idea how he died, but I have a hard time believing it wasn't drug related. He might have damaged his organs from heavy past use.
It sad enough that Michelle just lost the father of her child but why would anyone want her to blame herself for his death. Rebecca White, the source in the Daily Mail, was at one time an assistant to Claire Danes who is reported to be Michelle’s friend. It is possible that her information might hold a grain of truth. It’s unfortunate that she or others did not speak out sooner, but to deny that Heath was suffering from some type of major affliction is naïve. Google searches from the past few months show that Heath was acting recklessly and his physical appearance had deteriorated greatly. I only wish that his daughter, or Michelle’s reported new friendship with Ryan Gosling, or the possibility of bad publicity adversely affecting his career had forced him to alter his life style. Ambien makes you forget lots of things. If you were hyped up on coke and then took enough Ambien to get drowsy, you still probably wouldn't feel like sleeping because of the coke. If you take it and don't go to sleep right away, you do really strange things. Once I took it and started baking stuff, only to go back to sleep and wake up later to a hot kitchen and a big mess. I had no memory of any of it. Besides, if guys want to kill themseles, they don't usually take pills, and even if he HAD, wouldn't he have taken all or most of the pills he had?

I work with a girl whose friend hung out in Heath's circle whenever he was in Sydney. She said he was always doing drugs, coke was a favorite. She was not surprised at all that he ended up going out this way. My guess is that he cleaned up for a while after Matilda was born but slipped back into it, leading Michelle to have to break the relationship off until he got clean. I think Michelle would have taken him back if he had cleaned up. In the end the drugs were too powerful and destroyed him - so very sad.

I think this is just bad gossip about a tragic and way to soon death. He was somebody's son, brother, friend and most of all a little girl's daddy. What's the use anyway to write things like this. He is gonna be missed by a lot of peope and that is the the thing that counts. Ofcourse there are always people that love to say things like this. Famous people are just known for something they really like to do and wich is appreciated by a lot of people. The downside is the gossip and everything around it. The moment i saw it i thought this is terrible!!! It really had hold of him. He looked like a full blown junkie. Terribly sad especially for his beautiful little girl and Michelle. My thoughts are with them.

As sad as it is to lose a talented young actor, it's over…he's gone. If anyone really cares about him, they'll examine what lessons are to be learned. Lesson One: He was worn down and certainly didn't have the support system to help him take a break and stop the "wheels from spinning." He enjoyed his craft - acting- and the lifestyle it provided. He was young, for God's sake, and uber rich. He really didn't do anything wrong….we can only imagine where his head was and typically, even an accidental overdose takes considerably stronger chemicals (barbituates) over longer periods of time (building resistance) mixed with copious amounts of alcohol, etc. If he was - what the call rollercoatering (ups then downs, etc.) this overtime has been proven to be potentially lethal. I think he was simply worn out, not only from his personal life (good and bad), but from the benzedrine standards of a meglomaniac society. And as such….it was his time to go. Time to move on.

Keith's body did arrive in Australia with some of the family members. Some oftheoterh members stayed here in the state to take care of business. adn mosy likely to see their Little Mitilda. this family has gone through so much this past week. Not only did they loose a FATHER,son, brother & uncle, they had to fly at least 20-24 hours to get to him. Perth, Australia to NY, New York it is not a hop, skip & jump for them. Leave it alone and let the family do what they need to do. and that is to mourne Heath and take care of what they need to. Do not let them think that people do not care. They just want to do what they ned todo and go back home and bury their loved one.
