Obama did win the 'black vote' but he also is polling at 1/3 to a 1/4 of the white vote and the woman vote. He won the young vote and is beating Hillary huge overall in South Carolina. I'm an independent but I'm so happy to see Barack's success in SC. I feel like he is the best candidate in the race to bring people together to work towards a common purpose. Other candidates are much too happy to bring down the opposite party — too bad we're a UNITED country and need a president to act like such. Barack is much more popular (this is not an opinion, but actual emperical FACT) among republicans and independents, making him the democrat most likely to win the general election. look at the exit polls again perez! Hillary won on the strong vote of the european american women. (as always) Barak won the african - american vote, the youth vote, and the higher income vote. No one said Hillary won on the white vote in NH or Neveda. Is there something less important about the black vote that he should take this victory in stride? Perez, I liked reading your site…but I really dislike how you promote blatant racism. Why is it a problem if Barack Obama wins, and why is it a problem if Black people vote for him? There are tons of white people out there who aren't going to vote for him because he is black, so someone has to vote for him. Not to mention—he is 1/2 white! Additionally, if people really should wake up and look around at the economy, the environment, and the declining dollar…The country needs change. If a BLACK man can do it, that shouldn't be a problem. He is educated, intelligent and charismatic! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT! People wake up! It's a fucking fact that Obama won across the board - that's been the big discussion lately, he's been doing really good lately with all ages, all races, both genders.
