A few Perezcious readers were lucky enough to experience the hot mess that was Paula Abdul's pre-taped Super Bowl performance on Sunday.

"Just got back from the Paula Super Bowl taping. First of all it took forever for them to let anyone in, I was in the 3PM group and they made us wait outside, in the rain and wind for about an hour and a half before they let us in. The 12 group was held in a holding room all day and they combined our two groups. Anyway, people were all bitching and moaning…but not ME! I couldn’t wait to see the lovely Hot Mess Paula A! Woo! So we all went into the studio and Paula did three takes. The show started out with Paula pulling a Geri Spice, being lifted into the air by about 5 young skinny men, she had a drum line play along with the band and cheerleaders being flung into the air. She had on this little black fitted tuxedo vest, elbow high black gloves and tight tight black strech pants – OHH and the ever hot Top Hat. She looking Freakin Fab, absolutely Delicious! Paula danced her little ass off – she’s everything Britney wishes she could be and more!!! Paula was so gracious to the audience, stopping several times to shake hands and chat. Paula said this was the biggest thing that has happened in her career and she wanted to thank all of us for being a part of it. She also said this felt so good that she’s thinking she may have to go back out on Tour! I think EVERYONE is going to be in SHOCK when they see her bit on the Super Bowl. Girl knows how to put on a show!"
Meanwhile, Perezcious reader Minh had a VERY bad time.
Says Minh:
"i came at 11:30 a.m. for the 12 o clock show
paula never showed up… she came around 2 and i couldnt take it … i waited until 4 and s family member of one of paulas backupdancers came in and told us paula was having a meltdown. couldnt take any more of it and i left.
so did 60 other people in the audience
never watching american idol again."

"Well, we waited a total of 6 hours, thats right 6 hours for the Diva
to come out. By that time, half the audience had already left.
According to one of the P.A.'s they were all waiting for paula to come
out. When she finally came out she gave us a "great" lip-sync
performance. Half the time she wasn't keeping up with vocal track. But
overall, a hot mess!!!
P.S. When she tried to talk to the audience she was slurring her words
and not making sense. Put it this way her assistant was not giving her
water in the bottle."

"At first I was so excited to see Paula Abdul perform…okay not really, I just wanted to be apart of Superbowl history, but than it got really ridiculous. It was raining like crazy and they made us wait in a small crowded warehouse before they took us to the stage. And most of us didnt even make it! The stage crew kept on saying thigns like "oh thank you for being patient, we will get you in in 15 minutes!" yea right. that 15 minutes turned into 5 hours because Paula had a meltdown. me and my friends left. i dont care how much ppl say that performance rocked, it probably tanked. we all know Paula A does worse lipsyncing than the ashley simpson fiasco on snl. And she was prolie more stoned and drunk than britney was at the VMAs. I am offically boycotting American Idol now.

"Paula's performance was FABULOUS!!! The biotch rocked like she did 15 years ago!! First she opened with a snippet of "Forever Your Girl" and went into her new single (that is #1 on iTunes). She hit every mark-the choreography was incredible. Yes, she lip synced…we knew she would, but the performance was fantastic! I honestly believe this performance is going to be HUGE! Paula did not half ass this one bit…you could tell she was so excited to be on stage. She has the same pple working for when she was on tour in '91-'92. Not only did she rock it-she interacted with the audience and you could tell she was genuinely greatful we were there. PAULA'S BACK BIOTCHES-move over rookies!!
Perez, I'm telling you, you will be very impressed! My friends and I ran to buy her Greatest Hits CD after the performance because we were so excited!!

I hope it's HOT. We, as the general public, deserve a NICE surprise when it comes to music. Most of our hot messes become BIGGER hot messes. Just once, I'd like to see someone who actually brought themselves back from the dead.

It is very strange how these people had such different experiences and reviews. Well I know now I'll be watching. It is so stupid how celebs keep people waiting - the rest of the world has to be on time. Everytime I've gone to a taping or a celeb appearnance they've been outrageously late. I commended Paula at her age for doing this - LOVED HER in the 90's. Go Patriots!

FYI - There has been evidence showing that the reason that Paula acts a little crazy sometimes (such as slurring her speech, appearing drunk, acting erractic) is that she is completely exhausted, both physically and mentally. I don't know about you guys, but I've definately spent a few days awake and let me tell you, it's hard to act alert when your body is that tired. Maybe rather than shitting on her and other celebs and mudslinging when they are exhibiting trouble signs, we should try to be more compassionate.
and for the last two reviews are so bullshit. paula didn't have a meltdown she wasn't even there for along time, the had a stand in working on there dance moves untill she came.
the show was great she still has it at 45 i mean her energie was out of this world her dancing, and how she play with the crowd. she is the niecest thing you can wish to meet.
First of all … to "Minh" - Paula's backup dancers NEVER came in the holding room to tell us that Paula was having a meltdown. Her backup dancers never came in period! They were all in the studio making sure everything would be perfect for the camera.
And to "Linelle" - Every video shoot is done by lip-syncing. The vocals are always done before the video. If no, then its just going to sound like a HUGE mess on TV because the band will over power the singing.
If all you want to do is complain about how bad of a time you had, you shouldn't have went! Yeah the holding time was ridiculous, but they were shooting a video for the Superbowl Pre-Game. It has to be perfect. Paula had to have her choreography down perfectly and so did the dancers, cheerleaders and drummers.
This was an AMAZING experience. To be in the studio for Paula's big comeback was awesome! I'm happy she's back to doing what she loves most. Performing!

Thanks for that Amanda. I was also at the taping yesterday and although the waiting time was crazy, it was WELL worth it. Why is the wait time being blamed solely on Paula? We had NO idea what was going on back there. No one said anything about a meltdown, what an idiot whoever wrote that. She looked happier than I've ever seen her and she rocked that stage. It was a SUNDAY for whatever dumbass that talked mess about us missing work. What are you doing online looking up comments on a performer you don't even like??? Check out the Superbowl pre-game show–the performance was HOT!
I was at the 6 hour wait and there WAS a woman who came in telling she had been there with her family for 3 days because her son/daughter was a dancer. some asked if pauls was having a meltdown and the woman responded "yes.. seems like it" she and the rest of the dancer's families were asked to leave the soundstage to the holding area with al lthe other people. and YES the dancers WERE in the holding room Amanda. they walked through the back of everyone and oly the people who stood by the door saw them so dont assume things you dont know.
Guaranteed she will be the next celebrity something weird happens to.
All I can say is that after her show is when she does her real gig. She gives the best blowjobs second to none. Even better than Lisa Reena with those big puffy BJ For Harry lips!

What I meant was they NEVER came out and actually talked to anyone. The only people they would have talked to were the people who talked to them first in the back, as you say they were back there. And as you said "they walked through the holding room."
And whoever the Mother was that supposedly told you guys that she was having a "meltdown" should have been taken off of the studio property. That is how rumors get started.
Amazing Performance. I can't beleive the haters on here. It's like people will make up stuff just to create drama. We were supposed to arrive at 12noon and they didn't get started with the taping until 3:30pm……..what are people talking about on here with a 6 hour wait???? That never happened. It wasn't on time…..but what is ontime anymore???…..95% of the people waiting were very understanding at ate the free chips and water they gave us. I think people wish she wouldn't have did the extra rehearsals before the taping so she would fail on her comeback performance. Paula is not stupid and you would have to be stupid to not understand her wanting it to be perfect before taping after a 13 year wait.
She never had a meltdown………..Who is starting that rumor? Lies Lies Lies. She was pleasant, excited and extremely appreciative of her fans that were there to support her. She even bent down and gave a few fans kisses and hugs and signed many autographs even when the directors were trying to pull her away for more filming. The choreography was amazing and Paula proves she still has the moves. Her mother was there along with her boyfriend JT. Paula spoke to the crowd several times in between takes and NEVER slurred her words. I am a witness….there was never backup dancers in the waiting room…..that is a complete lie
