Obama has had a life like you and I. He was raised by his mother and grandmother. He is the Gen Y and Gen X candidate. Not because of that fact alone, but because he is real. Baby-Boomers got the generous benefits of government subsidies—cheap college, easy homeownership, social security benefit, etc. My own parents had their college basically paid for, and my father’s service in Vietnam (limited as it was) got him a guaranteed home loan.
All of those options have disappeared for our generation. And we should be mad. We started out in life in debt and we now can’t get ahead. We have student loans, we have credit card debt and we have lower paying jobs per average. A new Baby Boom? Forget about it, we have too many bills to pay to reproduce! We are like no other generations; we have been forced into debt because our parents got so much from the federal government!!!
Why do we have this debt? The baby-boomers stole the economy and our opportunity. Just take a look at your yearly Social Security information statement. We are getting tapped out. We all pay in, but by the time we can retire there will be no money left.
