Hillary Wins Florida!

Hillary Clinton easily took home Florida on Tuesday night, beating Democratic rival Barack Obama by a convincing margin in the state's presidential primary. Unfortunately for her, she didn't win any delegates.
On the other side, John McCain and Mitt Romney were neck and neck with McCain barely taking the win, but he came out on top in the Republican primary.
Poor Rudy Giuliani lagged behind both frontrunners, after foolishly laying all his eggs in one basket and ignoring all the earlier states that held their primaries to focus on Florida. He will likely drop out of the race tomorrow.

Ultimately, Hillary's win does nothing and should do nothing. As a Democrat, I am hugely dissapointed in her campaign's politically motivated tactics; our country needs more than a politician, we need a leader that stays above the fray and it's for that reason I am supporting Barack Obama.
What you didn't note, Perez, was that HRC along with the other Democratic candidates, signed a pledge not to campaign in Florida. With this, it was acknowledged that the delegates would not count (Florida moved their primary date up in the calendar against DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE rules that stated otherwise–as such, they lost their delegates) and now HRC IS MAKING A F-ING POWERGRAB. What does this say about our party? What does this say about Hillary????
Yeah Yeah, HRC is going to say that 1million votes should count. She's right, they should count but only if the Florida Democratic Leadership plays by National rules.
If Hillary wins the nomination of our party, I may have to vote for a 3d candidate. I hope it doesn't come down to that.

Get your heads out of your asses. Whether you like it or not Florida is an important state for both parties. For Obama to call us a "beauty contest" when we showed out in record numbers around 1.6 million or more democrats…to vote in this election is shameful. You can't disenfranchise that many people and laugh them off, that's just disrespectful to the voters of Florida. Which is why I won't vote for him. Secondly Hilary never campaigned there, Obama ran TV ads and mailers there though. Despite that her grassroots supporters got people organized to vote. You realize that she cancelled all of her interviews last night because she didn't want to talk about the fact that Ted Kennedy backed Obama? And you must ALSO realize that she spoke in Florida only to try to take the focus off of the SC primary results. I am ALL for gay rights, but this is a silly/inconsequential "turn of events".

Too bad it doesn't matter. No one else campaigned in Florida because it doesn't matter for the Democratic ballot. To sum it up, cnn.com said it best: The Democratic vote may have little impact on the presidential race, however, because the party's national leadership said it would not allow Florida's delegates to participate in the national convention because of a squabble over scheduling.
So really, this wasn't a win at all. It doesn't even matter. HA!

Abraham Lincoln actually had less experience than Barack Obama does now…when he became President of the United States…and Lincoln is considered our second greatest President, behind only George Washington, our first President.
Being President is about having wisdom and good character. I know the big deal is all Hillary and Obama, but the truth is, neither of those guys has the experience to show down with John McCain. I'm really not partial to the guy, although he did help get my sister into some awesome schools abroad, but seriously, step back and have a look. Obama and Hillary are going to divide the Democratic party, and weaken their character in the process. While at the same time, we still need someone to run our military and do the responsible actions in the middle east. Republicans are going to be unwavering in their support for McCain, and his experience will easily win over most of the troops in America. He maybe a so-called War Hawk, but he's actually one of the most moderate Republicans, in fact in Arizona, he's for the most part well-liked by everyone. He knows the reality and cost of war having faced it himself and has alot of experience in the senate. I believe he will win, the Democrats(myself included) are for the most part too lazy or too jaded to go out and vote. Most liberals say they are liberal, but the reality is, when people go to the polls they put their vote towards the guy who's going to make them the most secure and the most money. It just works that way. He's a shoe-in, unless that Mormon screws it up.

Essentially Clinton is changing her story to: "We agreed not to campaign there… But we didn't agree that the results won't count." Enough. Re: Remember – You can get informed about Hillary and the Clintons if you would like. There are a couple, well there are many but I have only read or started to read these two on this subject. "FOR LOVE OF POLITICS" by Betsy Johnson (?I think that is who wrote it) and "HILLARY'S SCHEME" by Carl Limbacher. Great informative and fun reads. The first one was not meant to smear or support her, and wasn't written by someone who hates her. The second one, is older and is very telling and you can see exactly what the author is talking about! Hillary is a coniving woman who wants to rule the world with her cheating lying husband. They will do anything to make that happen. So, I guess all of these people who she thought would endorse her who support Obama better watch out! Think about others who have died after crossing or hiding things for the Clintons!!!

Looking over the exit polls - Hillary won big margins in a) those who voted by mail (31% of voters - with 50% to Hillary), and b) those who made their mind up who to vote for over a month ago (31% of voters - with 63% to Hillary).
Among those who made their mind up within the last month to last 3 days, Obama won in every case. Those who only decided on the day edged somewhat to Hillary (by 4%) - and this might have been partly due to name recognition, as voters were also voting on a state-specific property tax law.
Absentee votes were being sent in as early as December, when Hillary was still seen an inevitable - so were uninfluenced by later developments. I guess this means that large portions of absentee votes in a state might be problematic for Obama. Those who decided before a month ago - hard to say, tuned out cos they knew their choice? For the most part, probably die hard supporters.
Overall, though, it does show a lot of positive movement for Obama in those just deciding in the last month.

I don't understand why there isn't more of an uproar about this. All of the democratic presidential hopefuls, in a show of solidarity, chose to not campaign in Michigan and Florida- two states that were sanctioned by the Democratic National Party for unlawfully moving the dates of their primaries up to January when they should have been later. Therefore, making these states not count for actual delegates at the DNC. Hillary was the ONLY candidate to keep her name on the ballot in Michigan (both others TOOK THEIR NAMES OFF as a show that they would adhere to the party's decision). Therefore, she won Michigan easily. Additionally, she was the ONLY ONE to attend any Florida fund raising events (although they were legal) and was also the ONLY one in the state to make a speech. NOW, since she's won both states (i'd say it was unfair for her to even try to run her campaign in either) SHE WANTS TO MAKE THE DELEGATES COUNT! This goes AGAINST the DNP Sanctions and is unfair. How can ANYONE support such a slimy, slimy candidate to go to the white house after all the crap we've had to take from George Bush. C'mon Perez, c'mon everyone! How do you not see through her!
The OBAMA camp was the one started the race issue. Right after the New Hamphire primary, I heard it again and again on all TV networks and cables.

Why would Hillary use the RACE issue going in to Nevada and S. Carolina primary knowing that both states are rich with minorities? Now that S. Carolina is over and done with, OBAMA is trying to be white again. But once you accused someone of being a races, you can't take that back, or tell them to forget about it.
The Hispanics and other minorities know better. They will vote for Hillary. I see Arizona, California and other minority rich states going Hillary way.

If we examine her resume, she was first lady and then she was and still is the junior senator from the state of New York. The most hilarious, ironic and rather tragic thing about Ms. Clinton's rise is that she did so on the basis of achieving nothing significant during her years in the State of NY. She's great at raising money and even better at telling various groups what they'd like to hear and then once she attains what she's after she abandons those groups. Case in point: She courted the gay community in the State of NY during her run for Senator and once in office abandoned them in that she remained quiet when faced with issues concerning gay marriage in the state.
I always thought the republicans were lying about Hillary about her evilness and being heartless in the past. But, when I saw her in action with all those qualities, I became devastated. Hillary in fact is all those things. No more can I support a woman like that. If she's the nominee, I will have to hold my nose and vote against her. Sorry!!

This is a pretty irresponsible posting - Hillary did not "win" Florida as there was no race to win. The Democrats did not campaign there and are not accepting the Florida delegates. How can we measure the meaningfulness of this outcome when the other candidates did not campaign in the State and it wasn't a full contest?
