The winning party in virtually any civil proceeding will have a good shot at getting the other side to pay his legal bills. This isn't K-Fed's attorney asking for it, it's K-Fed asking for it through his attorney. This is how our legal system works. It's not so sad when it's Britney, but it's really sad when it's parapalegics injured in car accidents suing GM or Toyota who lose their case and then have to pay the car company's legal bills. Brit can afford it, and what else would she use the money for? Drugs? Food? Definitely not bras.
This would be a civil case in which there could be a settlement offer…if you lose then of course you pay BUT this is family court! If it weren't for NitWitney acting the way she does, this wouldn't even be an issue. NitWitney should have to pay child support, since it is all her fault the way things are. The more sane parent gets the kids. Plain and simple.

Normally I would say that the atty expenses should be spilt up. But in this case, since Brit has been so psycho and uncooperative, I think she should pay it all! I'm sure a big chunk of the expenses was because of her missing depos, etc. In a normal case, there is no was the atty fess should be so high.

Ok it's pissing me off that I'm actually now feeling a tad sorry for Ms. Britney. On top of her supporting her ex she's supposed to ante up $500,000. for his legal bills, that's ridiculous no matter how she's behaved. If he can't afford the pricey attorney any longer, ask for a court appointed one. Kaplan is calling the moves here and earning a nice income while doing so. He's the only party involved in this with any intelligence.

How is K-fed's attorney draggin this out? Brittney's been having melt downs left and right. The legal issues stem around her mental state, her not showing up for depositions and what is best for the kids. I don't want to sound like I am taking sides, cause any man who leaves his pregnant girlfriend to go screwing around with a poptart is lacking in the moral area…but I think K-feds motives are more about the kids now than the $$. One more point…WHAT kind of job could HE get….just wondering..other than something in the celeb world that is…I mean it's not even like he can sling hash at some diner because of his notoriety! When the man makes the more money, we cheer the woman for suing for legal fees. SO if she makes more money, and SHE is the reason they have to go back and forth to court, YES she should pay. What about the emergency hearing that Kaplan had to attend due to her, the ones she didn't even show up at? Billable hours for him and K-fed. I didn't like K-fed in the beginning but I think he is a good dad, just a horrible husband/boyfriend. He can't go get himself a job right now because he has to be with the kids, who probably have emotional issues right now with mommy not being around. He has worked when he can, One Tree Hill, and Brit's family watched the babies, he did not leave them with the nanny. Everyone is focused on Kaplan asking for HIS legal fees but I haven't seen anything yet of Kevin asking for an increase in his child support, which he can. Brit goes out and buys $55,000 cars and hotel stays, trips to Mexico on private plans, HELL YES he deserves an increase in support for the babies!
