Rehab Story is "A Lie"

Michelle Williams is fighting back against Us Weekly and their new cover story.
In this week's issue, the mag claims that Heath Ledger used and abused alcohol, heroin, cocaine and pills.
Us also reports that Williams attempted to get the actor help, but that he refused to go to rehab. It also purports that Michelle recently refused to let Heath see their daughter, Matilda, unless he got drug tested regularly.
But that's not true, claims Williams' publicist.
Mara Buxbaum, who was also Ledger's rep, just issued the following statement on Michelle's behalf:
"Much of the tabloid reporting is inaccurate. This fabricated story of Michelle Williams attempting to bring Heath Ledger to rehab is just one lie among many. The speculation is heinous. Let this family grieve privately."
Wonder if Michelle's publicist will comment on Heath's shocking drug video, which Entertainment Tonight and The Insider are planning to broadcast??

Now I'm glad that I copied caa.org, Michelle's agents, on an e-mail I sent to FoxNews today about the unsubstantiated FoxNews story that was running on its website this morning. I mean,really, it is not okay for a network station to reprint UNSUBSTANTIATED information and get away with it simply because they can attribute it to a gossip magazine via one line that says "according to US Weekly". I mean, "real" news stations need to be held accountable for what they are reporting and they need to operate under some sense of journalistic integrity. C'Mon.

What if he did use drugs? How is it the public's business to know this intimate part of his life? No one even knows if his drug use had anything to do with his death. And, again, if it did or if it didn't contribute to his death, it's a private matter and not something that should be broadcast for the world to know.

like many others, this past week has been a very awkward one. I think we've all been totally shocked by Heath Ledger's death and we all wanted to know more but dont you think it's gone too far? I understand everyone is looking after the most money they can make out of any story, but we should all have understood this after that A.N.S. thing.NOW is the time to say ENOUGH, dont you think? Shocking drug video? From what I have seen he neither takes drugs during the video, nor does he talk about using anything harder than marijuana. Plus he is constantly worrying about being there, hardly the work of a drug addled man who doesn't care about his life, partner or child. He is surrounded by people taking drugs and yet does not, maybe he does later but it is not shown, nor do his action suggest he is a "drug addict" as so many people seem to be reporting, rather as someone who would have a big night out occasionally. Well that's how it appeared to me. Let him rest in peace people, whatever killed him, he and his friends and family don't deserve all this unfounded speculation about his life prior to his death. Noone will ever truly know other than those who were close to him. I just love it how anything can be twisted to show any angle and then this is used as proof. Heath's fans are in an uproar about this. They had a perfect image of him and sadly the truth is coming out now. And isn't it hypocritical to say it's okay for the tabloids to talk about Lohan and Britney and Paris and their drug problems but not Heath ?
He was a good, occasionally great actor but he was also a druggie. So were a lot of other great actors like River Phoenix, Brad Renfro, John Belushi.
You can be a great actor, a good person and still struggle with substance problems.

Amen. They should do drug testing. Unfortunately, many of the execs are on drugs themselves. As for the uproar, it is unbelievable how naive people are. When Anna Nicole's tapes were released on a daily basis no one had anything to say. Suddenly for Heath, there is this huge outcry of tarnishing his memory. Maybe publicity people are posting here, because all these zealots seem rather suspicious here on Perez. Heath was popular, but not of Brad Pitt proportions.

B/c maybe she is saying hey he didn't have a drug problem. Now I have no clue if the man had an addiction, but him being in a room where drugs are present (shocker @@) while he drank a beer & said he used to party (in essence) doesn't mean he was a drug addict. And saying my girlfriend is going to kill me - she's in bed asleep with our 3 month old & I'm out hanging out - I've heard plenty of guys express that sentiment in a similar situation when they are out late esp. when there are kids in the relationship. It just doesn't make it so one way or the other - I mean I've been in the room when people have done drugs & yet I've never had a drug problem. The tox screen will answer alot of questions.

I just don't see how a video of him NOT DOING ANY ILLICIT DRUGS, in which all he says that when he was younger he USED to smoke a lot of weed & that his girlfriend is going to be mad b/c they have a new baby & he is out makes him drug addict…Not saying he wasn't but coming to that conclusion off of what we have seen is a bit ummm premature to say the least doncha' think? on the ET website they said they wont air the clip of heath out of respect for his family, which was suppose to air tomorrow. However i just watched the preview of the clip that ET aired. Why show it at all if they are going to back out of it.
