She probablt realized that ther movies are sinking because the Latino population are slowing leaving her ass behind! How can she be on the cover of Latina magazine??!!?? She must had paid them big bucks! It's a shame because I love Latina magazine…I sure wont be buying the issue next month!
I dont get why you hate her perez - she was only making the point that to compare her or brand her as a Latino actress is a bit of a misnomar. Think about it - you don't say that other celebs are Irish actress cos their great grandparents were from Ireland so why feel the need to identify Jessica Alba as Latino. She has a hispanic heritage but she is no Salma is she?! She is american and the only reason that ppl identify her as latino is due to her skin colour and surname. If you ask me she was not dissing Latino actresses or ppl she was simply saying that identifying her as Latino is not 100% accurate due to the implications which such a title have.

I agree with her. We're Americans, most are so caught up with nationality. If every ethnic American would just see themselves as American. I think alot of our racial problems would end. I feel the same way she does. My roots are hispanic, but I am not. My family has been here for 4 generations. I have a latin last name but that is it. I don't consider myself to be latino. Nothing about me is. What is the big deal? That is what happens after being here for 2 or 3 generations….you become integrated into the general society.

Jessica Alba should get educated on her heritage. I think her grandfather (without realizing it) did her family a great disservice by insisting his children not learn spanish to avoid prejudices. However, being Latina is not just about speaking spanish its about understanding your history, carrying cultural traditions and values and most of all respect for those who came before you and appreciate the path they've laid for you to be who you are…It will do Jessica some good if she took it upon herself to educate herself about her Mexican heritage in Mexico and in the United States. Then her comments would be a little more insightful and less offensive. I am a first generation Puerto Rican born and raised in NYC. I speak spanish and english well with no accent. BUT I took the time to study my heritage (in addition to what I learned from my parents) and in doing so I am much more understanding of my heritage…the good and the bad. I'm proud to be an American but more importantly Boriqua.
