Entertainment Tonight and The Insider have changed their min - aka caved under pressure.
The celeb news shows have now decided NOT to broadcast the shocking drug video of Heath Ledger they purchased for several hundred thousand dollars.
"Out of respect for HEATH LEDGER's family, "Entertainment Tonight" and "The Insider" have decided not to run the Heath Ledger video which has been circulating in the world media," they said in a statement.
They forgot to mention that they already aired a long teaser of the drug vid on their Wednesday night show and millions of people saw bits of the footage as a result.

I love my gossip, but I thought that was too much and I'm glad they changed their mind. When I saw the promos I felt compelled to contact CBS. Guess I wasn't the only one repulsed by their efforts.
also, he did say he use to smoke pot. that was a few years ago. i think everyone has tried it once… the video was around before he died and now they're trying to make a profit. Friends of mine in LA said they have seen the video and it doesn't show anything. Heath had been off pot for awhile…when that was shot.
There was no shot of Ledger using drugs. Ledger didn't use drugs. He was a pothead. He liked to drink. Ledger and Michelle broke up bcz he wanted to hang out, party, and fuck other women. Ledger was a dog, but not a druggie.

We can't bring him back, and all the hypocrites in the movie industry should take all of this as a warning because we know AND they know who they are and what drugs they use. DRUGS IN HOLLYWOOD are like Dermablend at a drag show. Its everywhere. The best advice is if your friends are using drugs,make sure they know what they are using.Especially prescription drugs. Do a little research and find out about drugs that cannot mix together such as pain and sleep meds= death. I do not advocate drugs myself, but knowledge goes a long way. Heath should be remembered for all he gave us, not remembered for a a human error in judgement that may or may not have killed him. The media is out of control and Maria Shriver has the right idea and made a gutsy move on her part. Heath will always be a treasued memory to me and thankfully we will always be able to see him young and beautiful everytime we slip one of his movies in the dvd player. And yet he has not said farewell to us yet, The Dark Knight and The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnussus are still yet to be revealed.So we wait for the emergence of these two films, only to be reminded once again of what we have lost and what will never be again.

As humans we are not perfect. I wish the media would just honor Heath for the great things he accomplished instead of exploiting his wrongdoings. It is so aweful that his family has to grieve, and additionally deal with the media's negative exposure of the son&friend they have lost. The video was from two years ago, and may not accurately represent his most current lifestyle.
There is nothing shocking about this clip…we all saw stuff like this back in the `80`s (even somewhat before and after). The people that beacame addicted either got clean or are dead. There is nothing new about this whole story. The only thing that is different is the fallacy that once you try a drug that you are an addict-NOT TRUE! Most of us casual users completely quit those drugs. If the facts were not spun and twisted-maybe the young folks would be more likely to pay attention to warnings.

I guess if anyone should be reporting on (can we even get any more dramatic) "Hollywood's Drug Parties", it should be Pat O'Brien. Plans to broadcast footage of Heath Ledger at a drug-fuelled party on US TV were pulled today 'out of respect for the family' — but Hollywood insiders say it had more to do with keeping in good with other celebrities.
The highly influential firm ID Public Relations, which represents A-list celebrities like Jake Gyllenhall, Ellen Page and Ben Stiller released a letter condemning Entertainment Tonight and The Insider for planning to release the drug video.
"They essentially released a statement condemning this video," entertainment correspondent Sam Reubin told A Current Affair.
"If you dump on Heath Ledger in this incredibly unsavoury way, then guess what, we won't make our dozens and dozens of high profile clients available to you and your show.
"Shows like ET in the most part work in co-operation with celebrities and they didn't want to jeopardise all those relationships and this video certainly would have done that."

Why show this now? This tape is over 2 years old and doesn't even show Heath doing any kinds of drugs and was supposedly heavily edited. Don't you think if the tape showed him doing any kinds of drugs it would have been sold a long time ago? People are just digging for dirt now, anything they can get their hands on. Let the man rest in peace and stop trying to hurt his family.

They don't have a heart trust me. Heath's publicist represents alot of Hollywood stars and they were told if they air it, they would no longer be granted interviews with anyone they represent.
