Perez, I don't think you are being disrespectful by showing what we all tuned into because, I was curious myself and wouldn't believe all the spectulation about Heath having a DRUG problem. We don't know how long it was since he was doing cocaine or whatever other drug….but it was stupid of his part. We all make mistakes. Hopefully, that was something he had done in the past (2 years ago) and was over it and sorry sorry. I can say that I loved his work and thought he was brillant actor! My heart goes out for his baby girl, Michelle and his dear family for the unexpected passing! R.I.P

All the magazines, People, US, Enquirer, OK, NY Post and even the UK mags, are all reporting the same thing. Ledger had a major drug problem and that was a major factor why Michelle Williams separated from him.
I don't see what the big deal is. Smoking 5 joints a day is NO NEED FOR WORRY PEOPLE. It's not like he was doing anything harcore. It doesn't even show him doing anything in the video besides drinking a beer.

He had a LAIDBACK weed-smoking lifestyle, he was intelligent and talented. He wasn't effed up from his weed habit, IF he was effed up it was from taking it too far with other drugs. Look at how many amazing, good-hearted celebrities smoke weed: JACK JOHNSON, DAVE MATTHEWS, MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY, CAMERON DIAZ, JOHNNY DEPP, ETC.! I love every one of them and they are all intelligent enough to know if and when they've gone too far. Possibly, unfortunately, heath may have gone too far, but he was intelligent enough to realize that and he surrounded himself only closely with people who realized that too. The video shows him both remorseful and guilty. I guess I'm in the minority here. I think the tape should be aired - eventually. Let the family and his friends grieve, but this is yet another example of a Hollywood star biting the dust too early because of substance abuse. A recreational drug user periodically is one thing, and people are right - marijuana use even daily won't kill you. But if he was "smoking 5 joints a day for 20 years" and was seen by many sources abusing cocaine and pills almost daily, that does IMMEASURABLE damage to your body - especially your heart. I don't think Ledger was abusing illegal drugs at the time of death, but it takes your body YEARS to efficiently detox itself from YEARS OF ABUSE, so I think the prescription pills attributed to that.
He said he would take two sleeping pills just to get two hours of sleep - it's possible he maybe took 8 to get 8 hours, which would certainly kill you if you already have a weak heart. This guy was an addict who stopped using it just goes to show you even if you stop, the damage that's done to you is even years before can still affect you.
Again, it's not the posting of the tape that's the issue. It's the timing. Why couldn't this have come out weeks, months, years ago so that something could have been done about it. Maybe a life could have been saved? Maybe just the clip on ET last night was enough for Britney's family to finally say, "I don't want that to happen to my daughter."
Heath shouldn't have died. The people around him in his "depression" days should have helped him through it. Everyone who is coming forward now and saying that he was really depressed, everyone who was seen partying with him (LiLO, Mary Kate, Helena Christiansen, etc.), everyone who worked with him and turned a blind eye to his drug use, sleep issues, erratic behavior, EVERYONE has to take part of the blame. Not his family. Not Michelle. Not his daughter. Ultimately, he was spiraling out of control and no one did anything to stop it.
Shame on those people who did nothing to help save his life, and who made it easier for him to continue down his fateful path.
R.I.P. Heath Ledger You will be missed and loved and remembered, no matter what choices (good or bad) you made…. Your love for your daughter came through strong and clear, even on that grainy tape.

It was recorded 2 years ago, and from what I read he wasn't even doing any drugs. He apparently was feeling guilty for not being with Michelle and Matilda and surrounded by people doing drugs. And he was obviously trying to "fit in" by saying he did weed for the past 20 years. He was around 26 in the video.
And why show it now, so soon after his death? Completely unnecessary. What good will come out of this? This will only hurt his friends and family who are mourning him. Is that so hard to understand? His family is hurting right now, and this video is nothing but adding more to their suffering. Why, if this video was so scandalous, wasn't it shown sooner?
The toxicology report is not back yet, no one knows exactly what killed him. The speculation and accusations are baseless, classless and ridiculous. Even if he died from a drug overdose, legal drugs or not, he and his family still deserve to be left in peace, and deal with their loss. It's none of our business anyway! Who are we to judge and criticize him?

I loved Heath, and I cried for him when he died, but this tape does not lie and people deserve to know the truth even if it's ugly. Hiding your head in the sand does not help anyone. I would prefer the full footage to be shown, instead of the "highly" edited version, which is wrong to be shown when its edited to dipict heath as a drug user.
