Perez as much as I love your site I think this is crossing the line and highly inappropriate I think you should take this down. I will not be watching the video and I hope others will do the same.

So let me get this straight. You post an entry saying that you agree with other bloggers when they say to have respect for the family and friends of Heath Ledger and let them grieve in peace. Then you give the television shows grief for purchasing exclusive rights to the video. And then.. you post this for all of your readers to see? I understand that this is your job and you take pride in giving people what they want, but at some point you really need to take a hard look at yourself and what you say about other people. I do enjoy this website and it makes me laugh a lot of times, but I really think you have stepped over the line. Why would you want to distort the memory of Heath Ledger? If people knew about this video why wait until it's too late for him to do something. This is sheer stupidity on hollywood cover ups. Look what happened to ANS and what apparently is going on with Britney Lindsay and such.
Well, this isn't the whole tape. This is just a teaser for the tape. And even though ET pussed out, in this footage, you hear that some organization called Channel 9 will broadcast it in Australia. Somebody will tape it from their TV and post the whole thing online.
Perez, as an avid reader and fan of your site, PLEASE be the class act that you are and take this down. There are other ways of accessing this video; your site does not need to be one of them. Heath and his family and friends deserve privacy and peace in this time of great sadness and grief. I agree with many of the other comments; we all know that Heath may have dabbled in the 'Hollywood' lifestyle at some point, but a two year old video is not proof of anything. PLEASE remove the link.
Re: Wtf?!? – It sounded to me like he was trying to sound cool when he talked about how much weed he used to smoke -at least that was my first impression hearing him say that - I mean I doubt someone sniffing a line up is going to be impressed by someone telling them they used to be a pothead. Although it does look like Ledger was preparing to do a line. Still doesn't make him a drug addict - I'd actually suspect the person is more of an amateur if they are trying to make an impression with seemingly exaggerated tales of pot smoking! But I'll say it again if this is the most salacious parts of the tape & he doesn't actually do anything then ET should release a statement to that effect b/c a definite impression otherwise has been created.

Now that we’ve all had a few hours to process today’s shocking news of Heath Ledger’s untimely passing, I would like to say this little blog prayer to the gods of decency and dignity (if they haven’t already been killed and buried under an episode of The Simple Life), that the tabloid media - and the mainstream news outlets who seem to keep blurring that line these days - not submit to the tempting but misguided urge to turn the death of a troubled and talented individual into some kind of carnival freakshow by speculating and sensationalizing every aspect of the man’s life, until his entire being has been picked to the bone and broadcast on primetime television, along with the sycophantic parade of people who hardly knew him, but claimed to be close friends, just to get their name in the news (even if means distorting the truth to make for better TV when they do). Spare us the paparazzi vultures waiting outside the place of his death, wondering how much they’ll be paid for footage of a corpse being rolled into an ambulance. Spare us your “EXCLUSIVES” and petty rumormongering reports that contain no relevant information and whose sole purpose is turning a profit on his demise. These ugly side-effects of the celebrity phenomenon are nothing but a blight on our culture.
Perez, can you imagine how your MOTHER, SISTER and Family members, would be feeling if, media outlets on your passing, were showing 'questionable' video clips of you, before they had a chance to honour your life at a funeral.

The power of celebrity amuses and interests many of us for the fact that we are all curious by nature. it is really sad that heath had to die at such a young age, and especially since he has a young daughter who will never know her dad. i'm not sure what your motives were in posting the tape, but i have to say, after talking about the other new stations broadcasting it i would have thought that you would at least have some respect for his family and not show it. this was 2 years ago. while the contents of the video are regrettable, what he did two years ago doesn't have a direct effect on why he died a week ago. he seemed remorseful that he was even there, so maybe that was a one time thing. lets give him the benefit of the doubt and leave his memory as someone who was a talented actor and obviously doting father. when matilda grows up she won't want to see all this stuff about her dad being a drug addict, especially if it isn't true.
