Plans to broadcast footage of Heath Ledger at a drug-fuelled party on US TV were pulled today 'out of respect for the family' — but Hollywood insiders say it had more to do with keeping in good with other celebrities.
The highly influential firm ID Public Relations, which represents A-list celebrities like Jake Gyllenhall, Ellen Page and Ben Stiller released a letter condemning Entertainment Tonight and The Insider for planning to release the drug video.
"They essentially released a statement condemning this video," entertainment correspondent Sam Reubin told A Current Affair.

Why i dont understand is - If this video was 2006, then why didnt the person who filmed it, release it then as it would of damaged his reputation, right after he was doing so well after Brokeback Mountain. He ISNT seen taking drugs so what exactly does this video prove? Maybe he took drugs in the past and the reason he said "im gonna get shit off my girlfriend" is because he confided in her about his past problems and if she knew he was there, she may of thought he was going to get into it again. I am sure that everyone has something in their past that could be highlighted/exaggerated by someone else who wanted to paint them in a bad light. But really….
And I don't know too many people in their 20s or even 30s who haven't been at a party where drugs had been consumed or even in fact consumed some type of drug at some stage in their lives… and most of these people experiment and move on or even induldge in a joint or whatever occasionally and in the meantime continue to live full, happy and productive lives.

Heath was a big celebrity, and i think if he went to rehab or had a drug video we would of found out sooner, and its really stupid for people to release it for money after his death.
