Britney: Popping Adderall and Chugging Laxatives!

Lynne Spears and Adnan Ghalib did ride in the same car on the way to UCLA Medical Center on Thursday morning, but…. No!
Britney admitted to to the doctors that she was on ADD medication Adderall, aka cocaine in a pill, and was taking up to ten laxatives a day.
That's nice and all, but…..
What was she taking for her bipolar disorder????????

Well all i know is that I have had several request for adderall (i am perscribed to it) from several coke addicts. I know it doesn't give you the exact same effect as coke does but there are some similarities. I think adderall is a horrible drug for someone like britbrit. And it explains her craziness.
The Adderall explains so much to me. I think that one of the rarer side effects of Adderall is that it can cause someone who may be geneticlally pre-disposed to bi-polar disorder to have it manifest. Sadly, I know of a child who was taking Adderall and this occurred, she had to go to detox and then she was in and out of rehab for years before progress was made and that was with two devoted parents who were pro-active and weren't afraid to use tough love to ensure a brighter future. I hope they get Britney's condition under control. Cutting out the Adderall would probalby be a good start.

ADD can be controlled with DIET. No one should be on drugs for that. Just cut sugar, caffeine and processed foods out of the diet and will almost completely go away. Trust me. Go Organic.

she hella has an EDONS. i really don't think she has bipolar disorder, ever since all this britney fiasco began couple years back she sounded like she has borderline personality disorder. borderline is often confused with bipolar but one of the main differences is that the extreme and inappropriate mood swings can go from minute to minute opposed to bipolar extreme moods that runs for several days in a row. other borderline characteristics are intense fear of abandonment and they go to desperate measures not be alone, list goes on and britney's behavior fits pretty perfectly into the diagnosis. maybe that's why she's not responding to the bipolar medication.
ANYWAY, regardless of what mental illness she has i hope she gets better, gets her life together and makes an awesome comeback later on!
Adderall, which is an amphetamine, would explain her behavior which is totally consistant with amphetamine abuse. Adderall can also cause maniac behavior, however, Dr. Keith Albow can spoke out today and stated that often bipolar disorder are mistakenly diagnosed with ADD. If treated with a drug such as adderall, the manic phase becomes over the top manic! And for bipolars with amped up manic phases tend to like the high.
So I guess everyone was sorta right. There is a mental issue there that has been made worse by a wrong diagnoses, that then lead to abuse of the perscribed drug.

All this speculation about Britney's 'mental illness' has become ridiculous. In my experience of 25 years working with those who have mental illness, anxiety disorders and the like, I could not see how Britney's behavior could be Bi-Polar (Manic Depression). Today I spoke to three eminent medical professionals. Two Consultant Psychiatrists and a Consultant Pediatrician. ALL three of them said that under no circumstances should a psychiatrist or medical practitioner prescribe Adderall (or any equivalent stimulant) to a person with Bi-Polar Disorder. It seems to me that IF Britney is taking Adderall, either she has been misdiagnosed or she does NOT have Bi-Polar. I stress the point - IF she IS taking Adderall! One person I spoke to said that there is often a confusion when first diagnosing Bi-Polar because the symptoms can be reflective of ADHD, Schizo-affective Disorder or Schizophrenia.
Laxatives & Adderall??? Maybe her problem is two stimulants at the same time. She drinks Redbull by the case, too Right? My 22 yo niece was having problems medically/mentally and thought something was seriouslly wrong. Then her doctor told her to cut out the Redbull, sodas, Starbucks, try to quit smoking. Within a week she felt so much better but she had withdrawl symptoms from the stimulants. Let's hope they get Brit off the extra stimulants first. A young person in good shape shouldn't need a stimulant for energy. She doesn't live a life where she works a night shift for 8 to 12 hours a night 6 or 7 nights a week like a lot of people do.

Adderall isn't exactly coke in a pill, but for someone who doesn't have ADD/ADHD, they'll react like someone on speed. Just keeps them going and MAY lower their appetite, which is probably why she's taking laxatives (if she's taking laxatives).
I wouldn't exactly say that she's got bipolar disorder, considering that she's probably got other substance abuse problems that make her seem like someone with bipolar disorder.
She just needs to detox and talk to someone she can truly confide in. Clarity is what'll get her back up on her feet again.
FIRST- PEREZ and everyone- chill with the adderall bit. Yes ANY prescription drug can be abused, but there are people who need it and it's so obnoxious when people completely ignorant claim ADD is all hype and that these drugs are just like cocaine- they clearly aren't.

OK. According with wikipedia Adderall is a pharmaceutical psychostimulant comprising mixed amphetamine salt that is used primarily to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder and narcolepsy. But if she uses that drug in combination with laxatives is obvious that she wants to lose weight because some of the many side effects are weight loss and anorexia, inicially the drug was used for weight management with name of Obetrol.

thanks, perez. all of us who went through rigorous IQ testing, attention testing, brain mapping, and therapy and have documented ADHD really appreciate you calling the medicine that allows the few of us who actually have it to speak more slowly, organize thoughts clearly, and control impulses really appreciate you equating our learning disability with a drug habit.
